I wonder about spear+Polearm mastery vs. longsword+sentinel comparisons. The PAM reaction feels like it would sap more incoming damage. Plus, I'm guessing higher DPR?

Great video! Thanks for all you do! I'm curious how the nightmare build of your previous video would change those numbers? Is your old graph accurate, or does it also include the math error you speak of?

Also, with all that Sap, you'll get a ton of opportunities for Ripostes.

Would you consider a ranger with sword and shield ? Having a source of reliable extra damage seems to make all the difference for this kind of builds, and ranger have a (quite infamous) one in hunter's mark, plus some more from all of the subclasses.

Re:charger I think this feat is probably quite good on Paladins as they get easy access to a mount that can disengage for free

If you're using a Sword and Board, then you're purposely trading damage for defense. You'll at minimum +2 AC due to the shield, more if you can find a magic shield.
But more than that, Sap imposes disadvantage. At first, I thought that was subpar, because you can only impose it to the foes next attack. But it's superb if you're fighting multiple enemies. Each one will have disadvantage when hitting your already boosted AC.
I just have this image of being in the middle of a group of enemies, all coming against me, whirling with my longsword and shield, deflecting blows with both shield and sword, cutting each down without being hit myself. It might take a round or two longer than the guy with the Greatsword, but the guy with the greatsword will have taken more hits.
It's just a choice between defense and offense, and the sword and board is the Defense choice.

Not too much and getting a mastery would make it more worth it. It is on the weaker side from level 1-4 the graze mastery could help balance this.

Does multiclassing for armor prof slow it down significantly?

I am so excited to play a Barbarian... I really don't care which subclass I will play
play... this options with the amount of control, and losing not so much of damage capability, makes them really a well rounded character, as never before. I never had a chance to play Berseker for the exaustion, and the World Tree is hot. Maybe I will play this 2 first.

If you're using a shield then you are presumably getting some benefit from the AC and the damage is less key? There's a tipping point of course. In any case giving up advantage by recklessly attacking seems like a bit of a nombo. OTOH if you're just feeling the look and don't want to be too far off the damage pace by using sword & board that's fine and kinda funny.
There are a bunch of other interactions eg menace plus push means you can neutralise an opponent for a round. If you really want to maximise damage Precise Strike is better than just adding a die - 75% of even 6 is 4.5 so if you do more than 6 damage per hit you are better off with precise strike. That's much better with higher damage weapons of course. My rule of thumb would be miss by 3, d8 or 4, d10 use Precise Strike. With compliant DMs or in video games where I have played most of my 5e combat that's easy. In practice I would rather have the fun riders than just more damage so I would not take precise strike until L15 (which I never get to ) to remove temptation!

A Rapier is a sword! And it has Vex which combos well with 13th Level Studied Attacks. Advantage basically always.

Commander’s Strike would be my choice if I went sword and board Battlemaster. Assuming someone in my party had a stronger attack than me, of course.

You should do a bladelock soon. Using it as a pure martial type (spell slots only for hex/smites) it out paces your first beserker build. It’s inline with most of your subclass builds through level 11 then it crushes everything from 12th on. I assumed one spell slot per SR would be used for hex. The EB baseline is no longer relevant.

Love the idea of comparing the builds for some specific play style - longsword/shield in this case. Pretty funny that Barb seems like the best user of that playstyle (instead of fighter) and I am curious if we will see similar upsets regarding other ones. Can't wait for exploring other classic styles: Archer, Dual Wielder and Heavy Weapon User.
From my own math, I would make the claim that True Strike Rogue is the best option for ranged combat and that Paladin and Ranger are the best dual Wielders. I am curious if I missed something.

I love this series of videos.
Mage slayer IMO might be more important than resilient wisdom on barbarian and fighters.
I wonder what a champion fighter with a rapier would fare

Kinda surprised you didn’t go for a Shillelagh/True Strike Eldritch Knight, focused on Intelligence. I feel like the math would have been easier and it likely would have yielded more damage potential for a One Handed weapon and Shield Build. Then again, if you were purely trying to go Sword and Board, then I can see why.
