As to the Hodor situation. It is like the Red Priestess (not the one that brought Jon back, the other one) said to Varys and Tyrion... Everything happens for a reason, we all have a part to play in the great war (I am paraphrasing here). In the case of Hodor that is now eminently clear but consider it to be true for pretty much everyone in the show. It is also imho why Jon was allowed to come back, same as Derrick Dondarrion (who now has come back 6 times). Their work is not done yet.
