ANOTHER reason GameStop has been declining was because it expanded so quickly. EB Games and GameStop would usually be in the same neighborhood/mall. So when GameStop bought EB, they kept both places open. Now there are 2 GameStop stores are too close and have to compete, so both starve. Why didn't GameStop consolidate and close? Terrible upper management.

Like you, I have fond memories of visiting Gamestop on numerous occasions, whether it was to check out a game that wasn't available anywhere else, find an elusive Amiibo figure to add to my collection, or simply just to browse for a few glorious moments. As someone who has been a gamer for most of my life, Gamestop felt like it was the best place in the world...and now it's becoming a mere shadow of its former self. Terrible management, questionable business practices, a failure to do more to adapt to the growing digital marketplace, and, of course, Covid...they've all contributed to the company's downfall, and I am surprised that, with all the mistakes they've made, they're still hanging in there, trying to turn things around. I must admit that the whole Gamestop stock situation was the last thing I expected to happen...if it will ultimately help to give the company a new lease on life or if it will be game over (no pun intended) for Gamestop...well, I reckon we'll see soon enough. What I can say is that it is a shame that a company that I have been a fan of for many years has fallen so hard, so quickly.
It has certainly been quite a while-five months, in fact-since the last What RUINED/RUINING video, and yet I can see that you haven't lost the knack for making these videos so fascinating. We have the facts about the company's rise and fall, and how the recent stock situation has been really shaking things up in ways that I never could have imagined. We have the nostalgia of what Gamestop meant to you when you were younger, and how even the company's scummy business practices could not take that away from you. We have the usual bits of clever editing and references that has really helped improve your already-amazing videos these past few months. We even have a chapter select for the video which-I presume-will be used in all future videos. It's safe to say that we have another winner of a What's RUINING video on your hands, and I look forward to seeing more of them in the future.
Enjoy your weekend, Saber...see you around! =)
