The doorstopper

It has no mechanism you can use to lock it open, and it's ridiculously difficult to get yourself and your bike inside unless you've got someone else with you to hold the door. So, being an apartment building, one of the residents had decided to fix the problem by getting a nice wedge-shaped rock heavy enough to hold it open while you go in and out, which was very smart and benefits everybody. And being an apartment building, maintenance evidently took offense at this, got rid of the doorstopper and left a note saying we're not allowed to do that. Which wasn't very smart and benefits nobody.
