That they'll trade friendly lighthearted roasts with each other, without anyone actually getting angry or going straight for the throat with some nuclear option insult.

In my family, the only reason to say anything snide was an invitation to start a fight. You start with a teasing remark and then escalate until you reach full on screaming.
