Some (Good!) News!

I want to thank yall for being as accommodating and patient as you have been thus far while we tweak what we have running for the Patreon. Using the royal “we” for right now as this is written and edited etc by both Doc and Cas. Not to pull too much of the operating theater’s  curtain to the side, but I’m sure most of you know that RL we are a duo type unit. Both of us have aspirations of being able to make a career out of being creative and yall have been an integral part of that growth so far.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but we know most of you signed up because this was Clara’s Patreon, not Cas’s. That’s super ok. We’re working on giving you guys an idea of the future of BentoWorks as a whole in a separate announcement and adding Cas officially on board as a sort of Community Manager/Sometime content creator is the first step there. At some point we’d like BentoWorks to be a place for multiple artists with a wide array of media for yall to enjoy. No one wants to eat the same thing for every meal after all.

For those of you exclusively interested in Clara’s content and just supporting them, we’re looking into how we might create separate notifications for patreon subscribers who only want to support them along with restructuring the discord so we’re not always “@ing” everyone for every sort of announcement. We understand that this kind of change may not be what you signed up for, and want to make any updates on our side of things as purely beneficial for yall as well as us that we can.

SO! Following the theme of food, our new (ish) tiers are as follows:

Snacks! - 1 USD tier

Rewards: Access to discord server and early access to art projects from Clara / Cas in both finished and wip stages. Anything we post will go to Patreon first before filtering out to other platforms after about a month or so.

Breakfast! - 3 USD tier

Rewards: Access to discord server and early access to art projects from both Clara / Cas ALONG WITH DEMOCRACY. We’re going to start setting up artist polls for new doodle ideas/projects and being in this tier means you get to throw in your vote. The artist polls will be a once a month thing, and may be more sketch than polished piece depending on what our current work loads are. This tier will also automatically give you access to any sort of scenario where we’re going to be asking for community input on currently in progress pieces as well.

Lunch! - 7 USD tier

Rewards: All of the 2 previous tiers along with a discount on any commissions you get from either artist. Our price list differs based on skill/content but being in this tier gets you a flat 5% discount on ANY commission be it as big as a ref sheet or small as a sticker set.

Dinner! - 15 USD tier

Rewards: All previous tier rewards along with an increase to the commission discount, pushing it to 15% off any commission from either artist on board. This tier will also grant you an entry to a bi-monthly raffleything of a giveaway for a custom sketch /YCH slot/ character cameo in current projects. We want this to be a bit vague for now so we’ve got the flexibility to do different stuff every few months. One month it may be a full colored/lined piece YCH, other times it may be silly sketch comics with your character as one of the stars. Either way, the art from this giveaway will be shared between the two of us, with an announcement made the month before so you guys know what exactly will be up for grabs. We’re also floating around the idea of you getting to keep an entry ticket for a future event if you’re not interested in what the current one is.

Midnight Snack ‘n Run from the Cops! 100 USD tier

Rewards: All previous tier rewards along with an impressive eyebrow raised look of concern from both artists on board. This tier comes with an awkward, but sincere and heartfelt thanks from us (after we give you a talking too and generally question what state of mind you would be in to sign up for it). It was set up by request and is just a general “support for the overall aspirations of the artist’s ideas” type thing.

Yall’s support means the world to us, and while we know that some of the stuff we do or are into is maybe not the stuff you’d talk about in polite company, but we agree that all of you that have been here so far are genuinely pretty fucking rad and compassionate individuals. Sappiness aside, for now we are focusing on a more consistent schedule and fleshing out what we do have with just Clara and Cas as the two board members. Sometime in the near future, the patreon itself will get a fresh coat of paint in terms of graphics etc. that we hope you’ll get a kick out of.
