Convoy flagships. Aren't you forgetting any battleship that might have been escorting a convoy? If there was an admiral aboard, would he have been in charge of the escorts, or would the escorts be separate?

Childhood diseases like measles, mumps etc. have a more serious effect on post puberty adults mainly due to the effect on the hormone systems in adults; this can lead to serious effects on the bodies performance and survival without modern medical methods. Therefore should such childhood disease s come aboard a ship in the age of sail it would probably have a serious effect on the survival of a good proportion of the crew. Regards
