After a bunch of stuff, the prototype v0.1 is finally here. I hope you enjoy it!!!

The main purpose of the prototype v0.1 is to test the main concept, collect feedback, then overhaul the design. Please share all your feedback in the comments!!!! I’ll take everybody’s feedback, make any redesigns that need to be made, and then implement them in the next version.

Things I’m thinking about:
1) The mechanics for enemies attacking the adventurers. Currently, there is no lose state, enemies can only slow down the player. Is this fun? I hope so! Please let me know!

2) While I like the enemy’s defense mechanic (reduce any defense to 0) a lot, I wonder if it can be visualized better? Currently its just a series of icons with numbers on them. Would it be better if they were represented with bars, or something else?

I think this would be really fun, but its something to do way later in development. I want to focus on game play and art for now.

Thank you! Body type diversity is really interesting to me. I'm excited to add the Barbarian, I'd like there to be a really buff girl.

Bewildered Angel

This could be interesting and spice up the game play a bit. I'm wary of adding additional systems because as the game gets bigger updates would come slower.

Bewildered Angel

I love the current number and icon based system, gives it a very cool Trading Card Game vibe that works well for a fantasy game like this. If you want to stick with that vibe, it would be interesting to see something like a character sheet for the party members between stages, give them a name and likes/dislikes, and a way to track upgrades bought with fat or any other buffs (thanks for looking at all these recommendations, I just hope to see you make a game you want out of this super fun and cute project!)

On a less game-play oriented and programming centric note, I love how each girl is body type/shape oriented. Were their any other designs you were looking to implement in the future?

nicNAC500

I'd imagine this would be difficult to implement, but how do you feel about a combo system? What I mean is, if a charcter chains taking on multiple of a similar foe (food type, or same enemy, or something similar) then there would be an incremental boost to weight gain (multiplier would be the first thing that springs to mind, but fractional would probably be less game breaking)

nicNAC500

This is cool and would vary up enemy design a lot! No need to apologize! I'm always happy for comments.

Bewildered Angel

Enemy food type is already indicated on the background, but nobody's picked up on that so I might need to make it more explicit!

Bewildered Angel

Oh! Sorry for taking up all the comments here, but I had an idea for how you could give enemies extra punch: a tummy-ache system; certain enemies could have an attack that temporarily debuffs stomache size (either increments of five or fractional, I'd imagine) that makes it easier to KO by overeating and/or slows down recharge (feeling "full"). This would incentivize using the growing tummy system

Thanks for all the responses. Overall, I like the UI and gameplay a lot! The only thing that was, arguably, unclear was the favorite foods advantage; I figured out most pretty easily (fruit, bacon doors, sweets), but some sort of context clue would go to help a long way (color coding maybe?). I look forward to howw the game goes from here and had a "ton" of fun so far!

Drops from bosses would be interesting and vary up the gameplay a little. Armor, Meat, and Faith enemies ended up being rarer than I realized, which impacts the Warriors and Priestess's usefulness. New levels will compensate for this.

Bewildered Angel

I think this would also be cool. I'd like the effects of high weight to be negative over-all, to encourage resetting the weight often. But a trade-off would be interesting.

Bewildered Angel

I agree on the leveling part, I'd like to have more options, especially as the game gets bigger and longer. Currently it caps out at 300 or so, yeah. I will definitely be adding more weight levels in the future!

Bewildered Angel

(pt 3) Lastly, it would be cool to implement more enemy diversity, and maybe some kind of permanent buff that drops from bosses; It felt like some characters had less enemies to get an advantage over (priest and warrior) then the other two, plus it would be cool to get a permanent boost to something like belly, a one-time weight buff, or something similar to reward beating boss(es)

nicNAC500

(pt 2) I think it would be fun to play around with a system of buff/debuff with weight, like the current slower recharge could be counter-balanced with a damage buff

nicNAC500

Super fun and cute. I think the banked weight and upgrades could be further developed. Perhaps a defensive stat that reduces debuffs in increments of 1? The character designs are cute, but I was curious. Does the last iteration of images cap around 300? (pt1
