Hypnos- page 15 - (unfinished)

I know I won't finish this before the clock strikes 12 so I'm posting it now to get paid for it. I'm having a shitty case of imposter syndrome and quite frankly, it's been an issue forever. So here's a look at it for now. I'll update this post with the final image before I grab some Zs and notify you of the update.

Outlook for the first week of July is working on the Burb some more to get my mind right, exercise and sun. I'll get the rest of the sketch Hypnos pages finished and then see how I feel from there. I went back and looked at the projects I started over the last 4 or 5 years and I gotta say, they all have potential. Shame I'm the only one that can make them live. So many ideas and so little time.

I am also an artist and had a similar mental problem. Personally the only way i overcame this was to create something i was so passionate and obsess about to a point where it would take most of my time and energy.

Looking forward to the changes sweeping through. Bimbo TG Superman

Yes! When I was most active, that was my best routine as well. First thing I did, before anything else including eating, was aim for an hour at the work station. It relieved a lot of stress too, because knowing I already got a head start on the day, I could relax more and reward myself with meals. Some people may have noticed I have not been active on Patreon in a long time, and part of that is bc I got a new job. The new job has been my priority, and therefore my artwork routine has been disrupted. I still try to chip away, but unless it's the first thing I do each day, my productivity isn't the same. So you are right about that.

The top game developers (Valve/Blizzard) and artists (Kubrick/Tool) generally share a motto, something to the effect of: It's not good when it's done. It's done when it's good. I think I have that right. These updates look great and I still enjoy seeing the development process.

You look like the real deal from where I'm at. Take care out there champ.

That’s really cool. I’d love to see your work sometime, when you’re ready.

Your art made me pursuit getting good at art as well. I want to make characters inspired by your works but in 3d, since I can't even draw a doodle, but 3d sculpting and modelling works for me :) so for know I'm learning character creation in Blender. And maybe someday I'll make my own character. I'm debating with myself around if I should learn animation as well or keep it to stills and make comics. So I'm always looking forward to your next piece as it sparks my inspiration :)

Very interesting plot.

Sorry to hear that, as a fellow comic creator the only advice I can give is having a morning ritual where you work 1 hour on a project. It's slower but consistent and steady progress, and you know for the rest of the day you produced something instead of bulldozing through it. Of course I don't have the full picture and that's just my experience.

ultimately you should work on what you want to work, though I'd say besides Hypnos and Burb, Bimbo Bomb Girls is definitely the one you should return to the most, as it has some of the highest potential of your series(much like Hypnos for various superhero things, I'd say BBG has potential for spinning off parodies of other cartoon series) but has probably gotten the least content of any of them(since outside of a couple model sheets and the cover you only made it two pages into the comic before abandoning it) also regarding the Imposter Syndrome, sucks you have to deal with that as you are one of the most talented artists I know

qwerpyblah

So I’m just gonna say this. Your talent is undeniable. So much so that you have inspired and gotten respect from so many other artists in the genre. Your work is iconic. As far as you being the only one to make your ideas live, if you feel that you are under so much pressure how about doing some collaborations? I remember you working with dargoden awhile back who is very much inspired by your style, don’t remember how that went for you. There’s also Cherry Mouse street or Rabies if your okay with a different style. Slut Writer could make some of the ideas into an awesome story and still keep it so that it feels like you. This is just off the top of my head but there are many others. (Termogam who also feels similar in style to you, Jay Marvello, etc). If you are willing and comfortable you could reach out for help if you want to get your ideas out there faster. But if you want to do them all yourself I’d love to see that too so long as it’s something you feel like you can do.

Omegalock

You should accomplish artbook. That's way we will remember your works.

I am enjoying the progress in this one how the world is changing. Loving it.

I'll give them a look. See if I can't find it at a used book store near me.

Have you read Effortless Mastery or The War of Art or books like them? They might provide perspectives you might find helpful? FWIW people may talk a good game but we vote with our pocket books and I am happy to continue supporting you. So please just keep being you and that will be perfect!

You should google it. Fuck it. I'll explain it the best I can. It's the feeling that you're not as talented as people tell you you are. A nagging feeling that tells you to quit because you're a fake or a fraud. I just see other artists blasting through pages with excellent work and I sometimes can't sit down and draw at all. And when I try I hate every aspect of it. I feel forced to produce and that not on anyone but me. I need to find the right work flow, get back to basics, practice, do the correct order of operations and be consistent. I really should just get something for my ADD. I was diagnosed in my teens and I'll be 40 next year.

Pit-erotic

Get some sleep fam. I've never heard of imposter syndrome but hopefully you feel at least a lil better tomorrow man 😄
