Aw, shucks, she could be an actual part-time bard. Moonlight as one, if you will. Anyhow here's my guess on the magic!! I'll step further and further down the limb as I go on: Echoing Reinforcement works off of infusion of Intent, to an extent. She had to do it manually prior to the evolution via Ether-String Sorcery, but some minor effects are possible through the framework that's been set up. I'd compare it to being like if someone used a stepstool as a seat, instead of to reach a little higher. Not as good as an actual dedicated chair, but it's convenient enough since it's already there. That said, there likely *are* combat buffs that would benefit from Echoing Reinforcement, as in, cast through a focus. A focus...like a harp made of magically resonant material, enchanted with Ether-String Sorcery. Beyond that, songs are stories, and the magic is coming from a system that is so heavily steeped in Myth and Narrative and History... so why *wouldn't* something like an Echo have the potential to, quite literally, magically echo the emotions carried by an ancient song played by a literal living legend. ---- GAH!!! She's so cool! Just a casual not-quite-military expedition is totally in her wheelhouse. It's good she recognizes them being so keyed up before the "true start" of the mission is a bad idea, even if there's still some risk involved inside the city itself. I bet the 1/2/1/2/1 setup was 'cause it'd be better for maneuvering a convoy, and they'd be mostly concerned with how to respond inside the Crypt itself. Since it's fairly lawless, it's unlikely that they would regularly drill for scenarios down there outside what was absolutely necessary.
