Worried about coming home to her gravely injured, when Aylin's busy finding morbid humor and maybe a smidge of poetry in the white ducky floating on a pool of black blood. I checked back on her new Radiance skill, and it doesnt have the same healing effect as Dew implies. The other tome, though, has subtle implications of regenerative aspects. "That which lurks in darkness" and all that good stuff. Making light just to absorb it is a little like tooting her own horn, and if she's gonna literally hack up a lung why stop there? Oh oh oh I thought of another one: Barging in on her like that would be hard to ex-spleen! Anyhoo that's just me taking a wild stab in the dark at a way those skills might interact if not *now* than maybe post-evolution or perhaps even combination? Neat stuff when you dont have your anti-curse sippies potentially have your Lady witness a mid-bath seizure. Terrifying things those, and sweet of Lucia to help w/ hair :) tftc!

2025-08-23 19:38:20 +0000 UTCOne theory is she was originally a vampire that fell under a curse that made her not a vampire, which is why they mistake her as kin at first glance. Also I don't remember if it was specifically expressed, only implied, are vampires from this universe able to walk in sunlight? The impression was no, but the only thing I remember is that they prefer that particular district because of a lack of light, not because they couldn't be out in the light.

And the other thing I'm not sure about is if it's her curse healing her after she uses the dew or if the dew weakening the curse allows her to heal? I guess it's already obvious she gets increased regeneration the more along she is, but I'm surprised that doesn't weaken with the dew use. Unless regeneration isn't part of the curse to begin with but strengthens because of the curse.

2025-08-23 19:21:11 +0000 UTCWell, Lucia now knows a good bit more about her new Warden(Knight), she’s learned a bit about the curse, at least that it exists and is particularly nasty, and that Aylin is actually over 1700 years old, not 17. Definitely not happy, but we’ll have to see how much of that is from the uh. Rather unpleasant and surprising sight, and how much is long term.
