Quad Bokeh - Made in Blender (scene file and animation)

This is a generic holding loop I've just made with Blender 2.83.  Particle systems are such a wonderful thing, they can be used for small  dust particles floating in the air, or be the star of the show for  things like this. I'm going to cover how to make this either as a live  stream, or a pre-recorded video. It's a lengthy process, so I might  supplement it with written instructions too (it'll certainly help me remember how to do this 3 months from now).

The attached .blend file includes the project, which is setup as follows:

There's a cube in the scene that acts as the particle emitter. It has four particle systems attached to itself, all of which are identical except for a different seed and using a different particle (mostly of the same shape, but with different colours). The camera uses heavy depth of field, defined by an empty called Focus Helper. Move it along the X axis to create a bigger or smaller depth of field effect.

The particles are by default frozen in place on the emitter(s) and have a lifetime of 250 frames, which is the duration of the animation. If you want to make it longer, adjust the particle lifetimes accordingly. Movement is applied with a Turbulence Force, whose strength is lowered by adjusting the Flow parameter.

I've also attached a loopable rendered video file in case you need a funky screensaver or an animated background for your own projects.

That's it! If you have any questions, please let me know ;-)
