Hey. Welcome to another update for my little project.
The first part of this week was mostly me improving the code for the battle system. Last week I was only able to let the engine recognize the victory.
This week I defined 12 moves
Defined 3 enemies and 2 playable characters.
Defined the slots from 1 to 8.
Defined a proper way to end the battle. Now it actually exists and clean everything on the screen to continue with the proper scene
Improved the damage calculations
Defined group attacks (one objective plus two adjacent and all group attacks)
Defined when apply the check for HP dropping to 0, as well as where I should put the animation for that. Also HP is not able to drop below 0 anymore lol
Fixed the display on screen with the information. Now works without blinking too woo
Yadda Yadda. A lot more
And for the second half of the week I went into drawing the sprites. So I'll do only one colored animated sprite for now and the rest will only be the outline. Why? Because I need to take care of more stuff really, and launching the tech demo is still priority before aesthetics

Ahiru's iddle animation ^.^

Special attack

Normal attack (My favorite animation so far. This one was the last one I did for ahiru and I really hope I can get this smooth with other characters)

Buff/healing

The smug bouncing trash Slime that everyone is going to love and hate at the same time, hopefully in a balanced way

The attack animation. Timings are not correct here

This last one is not a .gif
Overall I like my results so far. Considering the last time I tried pixel art was around 4 years ago and the results were... questionable. Also I'm really new in the animation business too but meh. I saw some youtube tutorials I guess lmao
Sorry for posting some .gif in different sizes. The software that I use to draw and animate doesn't export them correctly at 200% I need to use another one that is optimized for pixel art so there is no quality loss. It took 2 days to figure out the best way to understand the best way to proceed
Alright, that's it for now. Don't forget to support the project if you haven't already!
See ya next time.
