Continuing our patron-exclusive developer series, today we have the Flexible Media Animation team - Chastitty and Sven Noods. They actually arent the only people animating Paradise Lust, we also use some great contract artists, but these fine folks are full time, 100% dedicated staff on Paradise Lust, handling the animations, puppeteering, and other things that bring the game to life.
Enjoy! And if you want to know more, ask your questions in the comments!
Q: What do you do on Paradise Lust?
Bit of art, bit of animations, mostly cleaning up. I also manage a lot of the work, making sure that we have everything we need for the subgames, animations, and scenes. Then I do a lot of putting it all together and getting it working in the game.
Q: If you had to date a character from Paradise Lust In Real Life - Who would it be?
The beauty of Paradise Lust is that you don’t need to choose ONLY one.
Q: What do you play when not playing lewd games?
Multiplayer co-op games.
Q: Which char do you most identify with?
There’s only a handful of dudes in the game and they are either douches or dicks. I identify with all of them.
Q: What would you advise new animators/artists wanting to make lewd games?
Do what you enjoy and it becomes less of a chore.
Q: What's the most fun thing you do in the project?
Research. For educational purposes.
Q: What do you do on Paradise Lust?
My main job is making the characters talk and move around. When the scripts and animations are done, I am the one who puts the scenes together. It feels like directing a stage play! I also do a little bit of art and some animation on the side.
Q: What other lewd games are you playing?
Summertime Saga. I haven't finished it yet!
Q: If you had to date a character from Paradise Lust In Real Life - Who would it be?
Just one? I can't choose just one! I'd date them all if I could... except Karen, maybe.
Q: What would you advise new animators/artists wanting to make lewd games?
Play other people's games a lot. See what they do well and copy that!
Q: What part of your job takes longer than people think?
Hah! Everything. It's grunt work. It's tedious but I do enjoy it despite my near constant bitching about how much dialogue there is in this game (sorry Chase). From a player perspective, it feels nice to have dialogue options to choose from. From a developer perspective, putting together branching dialogues can be headache-inducing.
