Threats of death to the King cannot be ignored. His royal Hand has tasked your party to locate their source and extinguish them. For generous pay, of course.

You track rumors of strange happenings to a discrete hideaway in a forest, right on the edge of the kingdom. Once inside, you are set upon by lithe figures in black, wielding daggers, bows, powders, and magical implements.

Should you venture deeper into the death-themed abode, you chance upon an old elven man reading in the library. He will agree that they are plotting to kill the King, but will calmly inform you that this is because the man is the descendant of a usurper.

What’s happening? A long time ago a usurper killed the rightful widowed Queen and made to dispose of her children, too. But thankfully, they escaped. That man was crowned King, while the innocent children struggled to survive on the streets, eventually banding together to form this Order.

Now their children, who have spent their lives preparing for this moment, are ready to take back their rightful places by killing the last descendant of the usurper’s bloodline; the King.

Through something passed down in the blood, the Order is mute. The old elf is not biologically related to the rightful heirs, which is why he can speak. Indeed, he is the one who sheltered their parents initially and taught them the ways of vengeance.

 If you’ve killed the other members of the Order, one may yet remain in the secret basement with a throne of skulls. Will you erase their bloodline forever, or assist them in killing the child of the usurper—a child who has done nothing but been born from the wrong father?
