We are experiencing technical crap

Sorry people, two days of delay with Alphas: it was a kinda troubled week and I'm spending some time figuring out how to rearrange my internet presence with the imminent porn ban by Tumblr.

And I’m surprisingly OK with that.

Tumblr gave me much satisfaction and the majority of my actual fans, but also a lot of frustration, due mostly to its nonsensical moderation system, but also to the pretty strange attention span of its users.

  1. Being hidden from search results and external viewers in a platform where hashtags are so highlighted, is stupid. It would have been more reasonable to be hidden just from search results of the app. Like the app of furaffinity.net does
  2. A lot of bots, N*zis, and people into child abuse followed my NSFW blog, and I’m deeply ashamed of that, and surprised that Tumblr waits for a user to report that crap.
  3. My primary blog, rickleone.tumblr.com, has been tagged as NSFW, thus hidden, without being actually NSFW. This upset me very much.

More personally, Tumblr feed tends to separate the content from the person that creates it. Users are somehow willing to spend a few seconds to reblog something but not to find the creator. This is strange and frustrating, more crooked than the usual “casual like” of people on IG.

Demonstrated by the fact that a lot of the free parts of Chapter Zero are reblogged separately, by users not searching for the complete story.

So, focusing more on Twitter and galleries like furaffinity.net, I hope to find a better way to post my contents and cultivate a fanbase. Mi current intention is to make this Patreon blog an hub for both the free and the paid material.

There's also pillowfort.io, a platform that wants to be the alternative to Tumblr, but I'm kinda reluctant to split my attention and time to ANOTHER platform.

Any opinion?
