At Japanese shrines, there are women called shrine maidens.
During New Year's, many college students (and maybe high school students too) work part-time as shrine maidens.
This month, I'll be sharing stories about these shrine maidens.
I hope you enjoy them, even just a little.

How was it?
Personally, I've always loved shrine maiden outfits and used to draw pictures of shrine maidens a lot.
I've actually worn a real shrine maiden outfit myself about twice when working part-time jobs. (Though not at a shrine, mind you.)
I haven't gone to the shrine for the first visit of the year yet, so I'm thinking of going once it gets a little less crowded.
