Malevolent Planet v0.1.4 $5+ Patreon Build
Added 2021-03-21 17:41:53 +0000 UTCThe time has to come to tell the village its farewell story. It's taken a pretty long time, because it brought a lot of updates to the old systems and to the old UI, in addition to the new content which took a really long time to develop due to its complexity.
Latest Bugfix: 28 March 2021. Old version is 21st March 2021.
Warning: Although it's in a pretty playable state, there are still some things that are not quite working yet, so please keep that in mind.
For the next 3 days, I'll be looking on the Discord and I'll be doing more additional testing myself, so that after the bug catching phase is over, I can start fixing them as well.
To play, feel free to download the archive from the attachments. I will list a summary version of the changelog, followed by a more in-depth changelog after the bug testing phase is over. I thought that this release would regain some confidence that there are and there have been a lot of things in the works, so as long as you don't mind a few bugs, I hope you will enjoy the new interface, the extended avatar system, the new content, etc.
Summary Changelog:
- Two New Quests. The Exotic Hunt Quest and The Festival Quest. To access them, you need to finish Viradium T, then Vaccination Time, then visit the Local Affairs in the Evening (I hope I'm not wrong here). One of them leads to the other, not in a linear way, but in a "plot-opening way"
- Both Depth and Width in the new content. Choices can lead to completely different outcomes, with the first bad ending of the game making its first appearance.
- Word Count raised from v0.1.3's 250k words to v0.1.4's 414k words.
- Over Ten New Drawings, found in the new quests.
- Revamped UI. The UI is completely changed, to make gameplay more smooth.
- Smartwatch UI. Comes with many new menus. They're not quite finished yet, with some requiring data and others requiring some styling, but they're going to be finished by the time the public release time comes.
- Revamped Avatar UI & Avatar System & Avatar Wardrobe. You can now equip clothes separately.
- Ripped Clothes. Many clothes now have ripped versions, basically your clothes can get damaged in battle and that will reflect on your avatar as well. This will get another update during the polishing time or the next actual update, making the system slightly more complex.
- Three New Backgrounds.
- Three New Expressions: Surprised, Frown, Puzzled. They're not used very much yet, but I'm going to look for circumstances that use them a lot.
Now, for transparency, here's what I'm aware of that's currently broken:
- Media Rules for less popular resolutions may not be working properly. I tried to aim for as many screens as I could, so if something looks amiss, try the 100% zoom level. If that doesn't work, play a bit with the zoom and/or report to me on the Discord.
- A few hairstyles may clip through the new hats.
- Blackjack is broken.
- Blackmailer NSFW scenes are broken.
- Some of the new content may display some errors. Please report them if you can, I've worked hard to fix everything I could see, but some always slip through.
From what I've fixed so far, things should be working well enough to offer you a pleasant experience into the new content. If by any chance they're not, I'd really appreciate if you could report that.
In conclusion, if you don't mind a few bugs here and there, you might enjoy this update!
And, as I've hopefully mentioned earlier, I'm going to be on the lookout for bugs over the next 3 days, so that once I have a full list of everything that's not working, I can get started on them and finish them one by one. I will be updating this release with every bugfix incrementation, so it will never lag behind the $1 and the Public Builds.
