Another Update.. Is about the Prints

So... I've been trying to find a new way to offer prints and it's not going well. There are many different ways to sell prints but I am working in a very specific category.

I create semi nude or fully nude portraits of licensed characters that qualify as fan art but often make printing services uncomfortable due to legal repercussions, even when I am protected against lawsuits from companies like Disney, the printing services are not.

I completely understand the risk that comes with my particular type of illustrations and even if the printers find a way to navigate the copyright laws, there's the nudity issue, and then the homoerotic issue, apparently some printers are OK with nudity if it's not gay.

And then there is the commercial issue. I live in Mexico and some services are not available for me or are extremely costly. Even if the printing is possible, the production and shipping taxes are ridiculously high for me to get any profit. Also I wouldn't have any control over the quality of the product and the customer service.

So as you can see there are too many variables making it difficult for me. Sometimes I find good printers providing a nice quality product at a right cost, but they wont be able to handle the copyright issue, other times it can be a decent service with the advantage of international coverage but they don't like homoerotic content. And so on and so forth.

The only real solution I can think of is to buy equipment and actually make the prints myself, which also makes it easier for me to sign and personalize each print and I know some artist that love to do that.

But being realistic that is going to take time, I need to research and purchase expensive equipment, learn how to create the best quality prints, cover the production costs and electricity, and then find a way to ship the prints outside the country and remember the Taxes can be ridiculous in Mexico sometimes. 

So if it's ever going to happen I want to make sure is in a time and place that I can actually handle so I don't end up creating more problems for myself.

So I'm sad to announce that I will not have prints available for a while, only digital content for now, I did get some good recommendations from Patrons and followers, trust me I tried those too, But as I said, I work in a very specific category and will have to create my own way to provide physical products... Maybe it works out and I can even make merch for Patreon, who knows?

Anyway I wanted to make the statement cause a lot of people ask me about it and I only kept saying: coming soon, but now that I've done all the tests I know that is not coming soon 😅 sorry.
