Amazing breakdown. It does leave me wondering now why legs are the common defect in mimicry life. While silver is the word ER chooses, I wouldn't be surprised if mercury was the main inspiration for a lot of the mythology and properties surrounding it. The flowing textures on items is reminiscent of mercury, which alchemy regarded as primal matter that other metals (including gold) could be made from. Explains the persecution of the Albinaurics. Their existence threatens Marika and the Erdtree's monopoly on the life-death-rebirth cycle, and the supremacy of Gold (since the time of Farum Azula) as a holy medium.
