Added 2021-11-10 21:33:55 +0000 UTCTook a bit longer than I'd hoped (like 16-18 days rather than the 14 I'd hoped for), but I'm feeling really positive. I can't wait for you all to see this page!
Today's page had more panels in it than the last one, and since the chapter is a 'chatty one' I think we'll be speeding up as we get away from these scene opening pages. Whooo knows. All that matters is that I'm feeling happy and proud of it - and I'm hoping you will too!
Attaching up a whole bunch of in-progress images! It should hopefully give you all a solid idea of the stages, steps, and all the consideration I put in. See how the sausage is made!
Not seen in the WIP images is just how many hours I spend reworking that danged last panel and its text (and the text at the start of the next page). I had to redraw Judy a bunch of times to get her looking 'right' while also not looking 'child-like!' or 'fully unconscious. Then for the text, I really wanted to get that distress in Owen's voice across, without it seeming TOO scared. While ALSO conveying some exposition: I heard from several of you who didn't understand how the tie was taking place without seeing a knot being pressed in! So I'm hoping what I finally landed on will work just about well enough, and won't break any imersion.
I also know that several of you wanted an X-ray for the 1st panel -you'll get it in the single panels I'll put together shortly - but I decided not to use it for this page, as it added too much visual noise: My priority is always to keep the comic readable and giving it good visual flow that's easy for the eye to follow.
I'm zipped zapped, and ready for a nap.

I picture it in the Savanah district with big 'shade' canopies outside the balcony, that cast a bit of color and light into the room. Judy and Nicks' place has more picture frames and vegetation and is the rainforest or near-to-the-rainforest-district.

Or will the old bunny come back? I mean, when Judy confessed to Nick, she said she was still taking birth control, meaning they had been taking it before. I personally prefer Owen to be the one to be honest. But I’m curious what your plans were. If you’re willing to divulge that information, haha.

Putting her paw just on the peak of the bump make it all look so much more right, and meant I didn't have to draw another hand/arm in the scene ;D Really glad you're digging it Pheeze! The 'run' was a lot of fun to draw~
