Trigun Episodes 5 and 6

I wonder if its the rate of exchange in play? If a billion double dollars is worth a million of American dollars suddenly the 60 billion bounty feels more in the realm of Bin Laden. There's no way to know for sure

I'm unsure why the list of crimes doesn't include the destruction of the city of July (especially since that's focused on later in this episode). A billion dollar bounty does seem really high (especially given Bin Laden's 25 million one) but destroying a city makes it even more reasonable than killing a count would.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still not 100% convinced he is the mythic figure. Just because a character thinks they're somebody doesn't mean they are. What we need is external proof, I think we'll get that sooner or later in a definitive way.

I was thinking I might have to nickname you Meryl because of your shared disbelief at him actually being Vash lol- it was actually subtly confirmed in at least one earlier episode that he is. At the end of episode 2, Mary Ann (the woman Marshal) asks if he dodged all the bullets on purpose, and says that if he did, she’d believe that he actually was Vash the Stampede- and he says what if I was- and she says she’d arrest him, and it’s at that point he starts walking away. Then if you cut to when he’s actually walking away, he’s whining about how cute she was, he thought it would work out this time, but “I don’t wanna get arrested” and “this will probably be blamed on me too” which I take to mean that a lot of the things he’s been accused of weren’t actually him, but might be collateral of people trying to get him- like what happened in the first episode lol. I think the crimes Elizabeth mentioned in episode 6 are probably just the top of the list of supposed crimes he committed
