Waltz was incredible. Absolutely incredible. As for the character, I've since read that the reason he killed the actress was so that he could assume her role as the "double agent" who made this plot happen without her being able to contradict him. That makes sense.

2022-05-02 03:27:16 +0000 UTCTarantino considered dropping the movie because he believed it would never work, if he couldn't find the right actor for the Landa (Jewhunter) role. The role is amazing, considering you need someone with charisma, who knows languages and can switch between charm and menace instantly. Christoph Waltz, who played Landa, recieved an Oscar for his performance.
