Rockie underwent the same transformation as Three Paw the moment they touched down at the muddy shoreline.

What emerged was a version of Rockie that was entirely coated in irresistibly soft, golden fur. It had ten eyes fixed at the front of its head, and several more hidden around its body.

It went from being two meters in length and about Red’s height to being three meters long and now absolutely larger than herself. A giant, lumbering spider was bound to draw attention.

However, Rockie had an ability to mitigate this.

Rockie folded into itself, turning into a 50-centimeter ball of fuzz. It bounced around, enjoying its newfound agility before throwing itself into Snow’s arms.

“You gotta one up me every time, huh?” Red grumbled, unamused by Rockie’s immense HP stats. “You know what I’m gonna say. Keep getting plumper. I’m gonna take those stats from you one day. Oh yeah! Speaking of which – I still got the remains of the Queen of Sweet and Bitter Thorns on me!”

Red whipped out a large, fleshy chunk of an unknown organ belonging to the Queen of Sweet and Bitter Thorns from her [Dimensional Storage].

“Gimmie those stats!”

“It’d be best to eat them fresh… Wait, you gain stats by eating creatures? Eh?”

“I nebwa towd yew? (I never told you?).”

“I wouldn’t be asking if I knew!” Snow shouted. “Goodness Red.”

“What, you don’t gain stats from eating things?”

“I don’t. No one does. Period. I’d expect an amalgamation of flesh to be able to take stats. Not you.”

“I got Amalgamation as an Affinity! Maybe that’s why!”

“… You know, that might actually explain it.” Snow sighed. “To bring things together. The absorption of stats. It fits well with what Amalgamation implies… No wonder you’re growing so fast.”

“You are what you eat!”

“That’s not how the saying goes. At all. Ah, what the heck.” Snow sat beside Red, sinking into the mud. “Does it taste good?”

“It thorny. Feels like it’s biting back. How does my tongue look?”

Red couldn’t get over the abhorrent texture. It was like she was running her tongue along broken glass. The flavor didn’t help either, but at some point, the taste of iron masked it.

This was because her mouth was bleeding.

“You’ve got a thousand needles all over your tongue. Red, are you even worried about yourself?”

“I’ll just come back good as new~”

“I don’t want you to think that way. You need to cherish this version of you. Or you’ll end up like Scarlet Logic’s drones.”

“The Fodder?”

“Their Fodder. Teams. None of them are spared from the effects of replication tens, hundreds, or even thousands of times.” Snow patted her head.

“Then the number I saw on that old lady’s head…”

“Yeah. That’s how many iterations she’s gone through. You’re bound to lose your mind. Eat up, Red. We’ll leave as soon as you’re ready. And don’t quaff it down too fast! Even I wouldn’t be able to dislodge that from your throat!”

“Almost done!”

Part of their plan was to leave the Central Forests of Justicia immediately upon defeating the Queen of Sweet and Bitter Thorns. For all they knew Scarlet Logic members could have been watching them right now.

Red finally devoured the last of the disgusting meal and received a confirmation from Agate.

“Can’t say that till I’ve actually tried it. But… That’d be awesome, huh. Amalgamation!” Red punched the air with her bulky revolver.

“Hahaha~ Oh, right! Did you receive your stats yet? Or any new Skills?”

Snow asked this as she got up from the ground and reached out to pull Red up.

“I got a feeling that I’ll be getting them any time now.”

Red firmly took her hand, gazing up at those beautiful blue orbs.

Then, she turned her attention to the full moon.

“Right, Agate!?”
