good progress continues on Boy Arena!! bit of a snag, though.. ("sunday" wip stuff 2025 7-13)

big apologies for the late post! i have certainly burned myself out these past couple weeks... i had been working pretty much all my waking hours since i was feeling pretty desperate to work on + complete something, but that very much backfired.. by the end of the week i could barely work on Boy Arena, i was just completely sick of working on it, in complete contrast to earlier in the week where i was super energized. not helping was me abusing caffeine a little bit to compensate for my (still currently low) dose of adderall, the caffeine throwing my energy and sleep schedule out of complete wack for a while. i'll be more careful going onwards, being mindful about my work/life balance, making sure my mind and body stays healthy so this project can see a good ending!

all that said, work had still gone pretty well! i got (almost) everything i wanted to get done this week done! the focus of this week was getting most of the essential level mechanics in the game, between networked moving platforms and springs and teleporters and various Super Weapons and all sorts of other stuff! i also wanted to be more transparent about development and what the end goal(s) of Boy Arena even are, so here's something i'll actively be using going onwards: a public to-do and devlog/changelog!

i'll be reporting the major changes here on the patreon every sunday as usual, but feel free to check the devlog as development continues to get more details on the nitty gritty! these coming weeks are also about to get a lot more interesting! i'll be starting on the big main attraction of Boy Arena: the "Party Deathmatch" gamemode! think kirby air ride city trial, but in the context of a goofy arena shooter, and at the end you all fight a giant boss out of a pool of multiple. that's Party Deathmatch! more details will be given as it develops and i have more to show......
