sunday WIP stuff 2025 3-16!! further ventures into the unknown..

i've made a lot of progress again on "one greedy furball" this week, but if there's anything ive learned, its that im really bad at predicting what i am and am not sticking to, because soon after i thought i'd be dedicated to game development i out of nowhere got a big motivation to do an animated project again as i lost the drive for One Greedy Furball. its pretty frustrating to be unable to stick to any of these current projects, both out of a combination of ADHD while still being on a low dose of adderall as i build back up to my previous tolerance, and jumping into projects that i eventually realize just won't work out for one reason or another

my current idea for a new animated project is a pilot for another all-original animated series of sorts, the episode being about 10 minutes long. with how short my focus span is for these things, im giving myself exactly 1 month to create and finish the first VERY rough voice acted animatic for the pilot, no more than that which should be enough given the parameters ive set for the project.. the thing i realized about "nothing for nothing" is it was way too much pressure being put on myself for my current state, to the point where it burned me out of animating completely alongside internal and external factors, so i have at least a little hope for this new cartoon because it's intentionally meant to be very lightweight with much simpler designs and very loose drawings with little care for the model sheets beyond "keeping the shape recognizable and not missing important details"

the cartoon itself is named "Villains And Us" and is meant to be a goofy light-hearted action-comedy involving a world of explicit "good guys", villains, and supervillains.. unlike "nothing for nothing", there is no planned major overarching plot. there will be continuity and various developments that change up the dynamic of the characters and their world, but nothing grand for myself to need to super attach or commit to right now! within a day or two i already pretty much have the entire pilot episode planned out, its just a matter of getting that animatic done, so this entire month will be a test run to see if i can do that.

consider it yet another experiment in seeing what i want to do next.. im going to try to do as much as i can within as short of a time frame as possible, which might sound like it'd lead to burnout, but it turns out that's when i work best, just going all-out for something im passionate about while im still passionate about it. also! as for the music of the cartoon/series as a whole, i wanted to use various songs and instrumentals by the band They Might Be Giants! ive brought them up here and there with the potential music video for them occasionally but they're a band i really love that i've known longer than lemon demon even, so i really want to dedicate something cool to them, and this cartoon will be that!
