more general update! thinking of going game-y for the moment

after a good bit of trying this week, i think it's safe to say that i can't really animate under current circumstances, but that's ok! namely, i have ol reliable: game development, and something recently peaked my interest again, an old project called "boy arena"!

this is something i'd teased before a few times in and outside of the patreon, and it almost reached completion, but the major problem is that it was made without proper networking since it was mostly just something for me and my friends at the time. that is to say, it has the same client-authoritative issues that i'd mentioned my older online games having before when i was working on "fella kart". so the current plan for this week is to try picking this old thing back up again, this time with networking that would leave it in a publicly releasable state!

"boy arena" as a concept is actually pretty old, with iterations of it going back to 2018 and 2017, but it's basically my love letter to old arena games like "half-life 1: deathmatch" and "unreal tournament 2004"! it's an arena shooter in the form of a very goofy party game! i think as development goes on, i may release some very early builds to organize small semi-public playtesting sessions with you fellers subscribed to this patreon, but we'll see!

do note that for now, this is a temporary arrangement.. development on this will likely be very on-and-off once i'm medicated again, but given its personal legacy i would like to continue development on it post-"me being able to animate again after the health issues blow over"!
