Update schedule adjustments
Added 2019-04-12 07:37:52 +0000 UTCHey guys! So I’ve been mulling over this for a while now and I think during this time it would be best if I make some adjustments to comic update schedules.
I’m currently working with a schedule that I’ve set for myself a few years ago and here’s the reason why it’s not working for me anymore... Back then, I was able to do an entire comic page in under a day. Nowadays I spend MUCH more time on pages. Working with a schedule that is no longer compatible with my work flow makes it super difficult to keep up sometimes and burnout Really Sucks.
I wouldn’t say the fact that it takes longer to complete a page is a detriment. Compared to my work from a few years ago, I put a lot more effort into the quality of my pages now so I think spending the extra time to make it look nice isn’t entirely a bad thing. As long as I’m proud of the results, if it takes me a little longer then that’s ok with me~ (as long as it’s not Too Long because there’s definitely a point where I’m like… ok apollo ya need to speed tf up)
So! For adjustments! I think it would be best if each week had just one update rather than two and since I’m doing multiple comics it would alternate. For example, Enokan updates one week then Damsel the week after then Enokan the week after that and so on. This will give me enough time to spend on each page without the Deadline Death Loom, plus it will allot more freedom to doodle once in a while! Or even work on illustrations! Drawing non-comic stuff is so rare for me now and it can feel stifling to barely have time to just… draw freely. Easing the schedule pressure can also help me take the time to refine my skills and figure out better ways to speed up my process. If I find myself improving during all that then I would absolutely love to go back to two updates a week! Frequent and consistent comic updates are probably my biggest goal but I need a little time to readjust~
My biggest fear about this schedule would be how this affects you guys in the fact that if you only follow one comic then you’d have to wait an extra week in between updates. Webcomics update so freakishly fast nowadays (how do people even do 3 pages a week, let alone DAILY PAGES;;;;; where is the magical elixir to gain this comicking power) so I guess I worry that some may lose interest. All I can say is… I’m really sorry if any of you feel this way. I’m mainly doing this for my mental + physical health but I totally get it if it’s hard to keep up with a comic that updates a bit slower.
So yeah, I would like this to be as temporary as possible until I can figure out how to work faster and better! I believe doing this can help me a lot and I’m looking forward to being able to draw more smutty doodles for you guys! I miss doing full smutty, nasty illustrations heheh;;;;
Also! I’ll have a new chapter of Gomorrah starting soon over at Filthy Figments so I’m hoping this new schedule will be very kind to me while I juggle three comics at once! (ps, I’ll share my concept doodles for that with you guys here in the future~ * v*)
Thank you all so much for your support! I am so extremely grateful and the fact that your support allows me to create comics while paying my bills is just so… incredible and means so much to me <3 Thank you~

2019-04-12 15:26:27 +0000 UTCHey, take your time. You're doing your best to communicate which is more than enough. I haven't even updated my webcomic since January and I'm still getting page views, so I don't think you'll lose support anytime soon!
2019-04-12 14:36:09 +0000 UTCi think one page a week is plenty reasonable and even that is a lot. take your time making something you like, and we'll gladly wait patiently for it. your health and sustainability is always ALWAYS going to be top priority 💚💚💚

2019-04-12 10:52:53 +0000 UTCAs much as I love multiple updates a week, I also enjoy seeing non-comic art from comic artists as well, also burnout fucking sucks and I wouldn't wish for that to happen LOL (also im shocked there are people that update everyday?? wth is this sorcery LOL) Also I follow both Enokan and Damsel, so no real loss for me~ DO WHATEVER KEEPS YOU HAPPY AND HEALTHY <3
2019-04-12 08:35:41 +0000 UTCYou do you, son- especially if it gives you more time to make illustrations and doodles. Like that last WIP you put out- I really wanna see it in full. I really just love your art in general, and seeing even more would be great. Plus if it takes stress off of you that's awesome!
