The Original (Creepy) Design of Nigel and Marmalade
Added 2025-03-21 14:00:12 +0000 UTCI was going through some old sketchbooks when I discovered something that I had forgotten about... Peter and Marmalade. This was an idea for a cosmic horror comedy series featuring a boy and his human faced dog. These designs led to Nigel and Marmalade.

I can only imagine what would happen should these two pairs ever meet in some sort of cosmic-horror induced peek at the other side. A lovely bit of Nigel and Marmalade history (:

2025-03-23 00:00:55 +0000 UTCThe other advantage to having Nigel and Marmalade quite simple I imagine would be that it's easier to animate them accurately and quickly across different episodes and then the weird people they meet on the way can be more complicated because they appear less often, which is clever but also does allow the good contrast
