Part of the job of a tavern girl is being able to entertain the patrons not just by letting them play with their bellies, but also being able to engage and hold conversations, and more importantly, make the patrons order more food and drinks! Combination of good interaction and good food and drinks keep the patrons happy and coming back indefinitely.
The tavern madame breathed a sigh of relief. From the look of things, she won't have to step in to help this promising new employee. She felt a little disappointed for some reason.
