Attn: Unknown incident was recorded (see Appendix 22.215.97) resulting in notable injuries to Subject resulting in several new surface injuries. [REDACTED] testing remains apace.

Background:

Arrived in Raccoon appx early July, records show rental agreement at Happy Highrise Apartment Complex (see map location) through Primo Vistas Holding LLC. Note three months rental coverage, eight months rent savings (appx, see marked banking statements, Appendix 3.441.161). Origination unknown, credit reports indicate live-at-home arrangement, (see investigation log G1914) no notable family or friend connections.

Currently maintaining a noninvasive private lifestyle. Travel patterns are nonindicative of directed or targeted action. Concern has been raised in his relation to time spent around [REDACTED] however subject’s actions are within expected parameters. Subject has shown awareness of potential surveillance, but has not actively acted in an evasive or obfuscatory manner. Subject noted to be actively focusing hobby activities towards more action-oriented activities, including construction and weapons training. Advisory sources recommend noninterdiction.

[Investigator’s Note:] He’s been active in a number of community outreach programs run through the RPD, and has cultivated a number of relationships with various members of the force, including but not limited to Rebecca Chambers, Barry Burton and Chris Redfield. As of this time, he has also had contact with a number of retired officers through Burton’s gun club, run through the Kendo Gun Shop. (See Appendix 1.11.5)

NOTE: Has been noted to be a diligent worker, but recent reports indicate a serious illness event with potential injury vectors. Details unknown, injury unknown, recovery from illness appx 3-5 days, full recovery from injury 12-16 days.  

NOTE 2: Has active relationship with Officer Chambers, romantic and sexual. Note addenda added to file: Rebecca Chambers.

NOTE 3: Has had regular contact with other officers, including Kevin Ryman, note benign interactions, but some mild jealousy directed from Ryman towards Carter. Working relationship unaffected as of now.

Attn: Subject has been behaving erratically as of late, showing disinterest in established job and career path, focusing more on relationship with Rebecca Chambers. Psych profiling indicates personal mental turmoil for unknown reasons. Subject has been moving in and out of readily observable areas (see Appendix 4.414.53) however behavioral patterning shows conditioning is holding.

Psychological Profile:

The subject demonstrates a stable behavioral profile characterized by high caution moderated by decisive action when thresholds are met. Pattern recognition behaviors are frequent, including routine rehearsal and contingency planning. Moralistic reasoning remains intact and is expressed as a preference for containment over escalation. Affective response to conflict is present and appropriate. Stress and fear responses are within normal range for a non-desensitized adult. Task focus is maintained through paced breathing and sequential problem solving.

No formal tactical training is documented prior to appearance in Raccoon City. Prior physical altercations are limited to [REDACTED] incidents throughout [REDACTED]. Skill acquisition occurs through deliberate practice, observational learning, and iterative refinement under pressure. Tool and blade familiarity has been noted despite [REDACTED] however learning implantation has resulted in [REDACTED]. Pain tolerance is above average without associated risk-seeking behavior. When exposed to preventable fatalities, the subject exhibits transient, non-impacting anger, followed by dissociation (see Appendix 6.415.72) Recurrent dreams of [REDACTED], correlating with increased preemptive [REDACTED] and mild hypervigilance.

Use of lethal force began only after [REDACTED] and is framed by the subject as necessary rather than expressive. There is no evidence of killings performed in anger. The subject remains emotionally unresponsive post-incident and shows no markers of habituated violence. Fatigue, both physical and emotional, appears episodic and proportional to [REDACTED]. Boundary maintenance around the use of force is explicit and stable. Overall, the subject presents as a functional, adaptable learner who sustains structured mental architecture under stress while compensating for unexpected outcomes with marked increase to cognitive and dissociative reasoning.

NOTE: Observing researcher has identified a pattern of recursive justification when faced with situations that risk social or networked collapse. Subject has shown monofocus tendencies and obsessive grasp of preconceived notions. Subject has tendency to self-justify when faced with complex moralistic choices, to “talk themselves into” or out of a course of action, even when logic dictates the opposite course is better.

NOTE 2: Subject has begun a romantic entanglement in contravention to [REDACTED] and objective goals. It should be noted that subject has begun to exhibit cognitive dissonance when faced with consequential actions and decision making processes, and may require [REDACTED] using [REDACTED].

AN: And here it is. The big final codex, just for Daniel. I’m not gonna lie, while this has been fun, this one in particular has been a tough, tough one to write. I had several versions of this before I decided to take the perspective of someone observing Danny from the outside. I also wanted to give it that sort of a released document feel, but I don’t actually know how to use those blockout symbols so lots of redactions instead.  Though I suppose the real question is… who’s watching?

Hehe. Honestly doing all of these has kinda wiped me out. Fortunately I finished up the chapter a couple days ago, and it just needs edits, which I will go do once I take a nap, so expect it up sometime in the wee hours of the morning, because regular hours are for other people hehe.
