Project progress update 9/25/18
Added 2018-09-26 01:26:42 +0000 UTCMore behind-the-scenes progress.
Last update was an optimization update, thanks for the feedback from folks that had access, I must say it was a noticeable improvement for mostly everyone. Most machines with an RX 470 or better (GTX 1060 3GB) and an intel processor of 3.5ghz or better (4xxx series or newer, or 4ghz 2xxx series and newer), are reporting back 45FPS or better in all portions of the map, with reflections on (but not quite maxed out) and everything else turned up to max.
In other good news, user Fufsgfen on BeamNG forums has helped loads, and will have a street named in his honor (as will many of the supporters, or a business!), as he's helped very much in understanding draw calls and the issues with them - and how to reduce them. In layman's terms, that's a call from the CPU to the GPU to do a render, of a single, cohesively connected texture, on an object. If your UV's are split but not perfectly duplicated (e.g. you copy-paste textures from one identical like object to another like object - these get batched), it'll end up resulting in more than one draw call unless it gets batched as I said. So I've been re-working a lot of UV's so it may seem progress is slow. No, it couldn't be more wrong. I am getting draw calls down - maybe 20 here, maybe 30 there, maybe a few per item at most. Do a few dozen objects, and the FPS goes up.
Also, the new building and fully optimized parking garage went in this week, along with new parking lots, a modular set that can all fit together provided you have the room to do so. I will be using the heck out of these lots. I have a little touching up to do on one joint inside the parking deck but otherwise, that's good to go, just might need a little more detailing.
So for-sure, things have been requested - I will do my BEST to fulfill requests as soon as I receive them, or at-least let you know it's made the to-do list. Do not worry, requests will NOT be ignored, especially supporter requests. This is truly to be the city that has everything, and I possess the knowledge know to make this happen.
Also, a subway train is being made currently, typical NYC style subway train, so we'll have some good stuff for the subway system in the near future. Pretty awesome if you ask me. I will try and get a hold of this model before everyone else so I can get the platform height set accordingly. Entirely, going to make this awesome, can't wait for more good stuff to get built to show you folks.
Cutting this book short due to a raging thunder storm line coming in. Darn cold fronts.
Thanks for everyone's support!

Doing the best I can. Progress may seem slow right now, between the internet being down and my 'behind the scenes' work for optimization overtaking what should be content updates. This has surely been a learning process - but as they say if you're going to do something, do it right!
