Beginning of this chapter even had Mike outside, during lunch, doing nothing but being on the phone with Sandy. He couldn't do that *anywhere* else in the school? It's not like he's actually hanging out with James when he's just lingering around on his phone.

Being badly burned twice by Mike, I really doubt she want to somehow talk to Mike about her nightmares :/ . Involving Lucy with Mike now is erasing all her progress in protecting her current mental state. I wonder though, what that line in the sand can be?
