As someone who hit puberty and immediately had a bunch of caustic relationships, I agree wholeheartedly.
It seems all-too-likely that something bad is going to happen, and no one is really to blame here beyond hormones and missed connections, ultimately.
At the end of the day they are both way too young to be hurting themselves over the size of stakes they are experiencing, but, again, teenagers tend to view things through a more intense lense, and it -feels- justified to each of them in the moment.

Coming back after a Looonngg time and I guess Ill put in my 2-cents.
Currently this situation might be WORSE then lucy's position. He voiced that everyone seems to only want him romantically, leaving when just wants to be friends and that seems to also be being validated. He has no friends in his mind as he either pushed them away by rejecting their advances, or burned a bridge in his mind by his outbursts related to sandy. He also hasn't been seen really with his phone....hinting that maybe the previous issues with sandy are even worse now (further pushing the fact that He Messed Up), but, like he said to Paulo, He has put so much effort into that relationship, lost much already. Why or how could he even leave it after she came back and begged him....He wont leave her, and I wonder if Sandy knows this. She always has a "backup plan" with him, and outside of telling him in a moment of weakness, he will never know what she is doing over there, cheating or no. (And he may realize this as well internally)
Mike has progressively been looking worse every chapter, every page. More and more tired, and overall stressed. He isn't even getting a break at home even. Did he cause this, yes he had a part. But it appears other factors aside from him also brought it here.
This may end worse then it did for lucy at this rate, as he already folded when told to do something unreasonable (not going to hang out with his friends) out of guilt. He no longer is really "standing up" for himself. All its going to take is a last small push, after all, he asks Why he was surprised a few chapters back, and in second-string he says he should "be used to it by now".
Lucy's was a sudden and violent blow up on a hidden bomb, Mike is a slow burn on a ever shortening fuse and someone keeps adding more explosives, but no-one is paying attention to where that light is.
Someone really needs to help both of them before something happens. Karma may be karma, but looking at it from the outside of the Mike/lucy sides, this just isn't deserved.
While yes it could be cliche, the outcome is valid result here, and it wont be as cliche if he manages to succeed where luck kept lucy alive. Luck has not been on mike's side.
Thoughts?

I hate to say Karma hit hard, but he in the position he put Lucy. Will history repeat itself, Will Mike become what Lucy Attempted. That is sadly what it coming too. Now who will save the man who learning life isn’t always about him. Idk we will find out later down the road
