@Benjamin Smith; Her not getting it just shows how her prioritizes are different than EJ's. She's not mature enough to fully get it and be okay with EJ focusing on the show. Again Gina wants the fun part of camp and doesn't see why EJ would be focusing on the musical so much.

2023-10-20 00:12:25 +0000 UTCI disagree about the pulling away into Ricky’s arms, at this point they're just being friends. That being said I don't think Gina was actually fully over Ricky when her and EJ started. She literally had to completely cut Ricky off in order to think she was and didn't know if she was actually over him because of that. On top of that EJ has people at the camp that he knows can help him like Maddox and Val, Maddox being an even better choice since she's been a stage manager/crew member before and knows what goes into the behind the scenes but he's only asked Val for help. That's not even mentioning that we're seeing that his reaction to all this happening is to push people away. I'm also going to say this: it's a first read through, absolutely no one is going to be expecting them to be perfect and for him to be putting that expectation on them when they don't even have a script yet sucks in a major way

2023-10-19 05:10:26 +0000 UTCI disagree with that. It wasn’t his idea to direct the show and actually tried to say it was his last summer for camp and wanted to just have fun. But now that it was forced upon him, he doesn’t want to disappoint anyone and the fact that it’s going to be documented on tv is a big reason he’s taking it so seriously. Plus there was that mention about his father and taking a gap year. While I do understand Gina wanting to just have fun and spend time with EJ, I don’t feel like she’s taking what he’s going through and the responsibility into consideration. Seems to me she’s seeing it as a huge burden and is already starting to pull away from EJ and into Ricky’s arms.

2023-10-19 02:19:21 +0000 UTCIt was before the filming of this season. This season started filming January 18th 2022 and the off-Broadway rehersals started in late 2021. In fact I was just double checking and her casting in it was announced December 3rd 2021

2023-10-19 02:05:47 +0000 UTCEJ was definitely not asking for help this episode. He was really pushing people away and not focusing on the fun parts of camp, which is what Gina wants. I feel that's like a little seed that they have different maturity prioritize. It's Gina's first time at camp and she really wants to have fun at camp, while EJ is focusing on just directing the show. The camp stuff isn't fun for him anymore so his priorities are elsewhere. I mean Gina is 16 and EJ is 18, so while that's only two years, prioritize are vastly different between and incoming high school junior and a high school graduate. Honestly I think Gina want the EJ that he was like back in high school, where he prioritized the fun things. I get focusing on the show, but he really should have delegated highlighting through the script so it's not such a burden on himself.

2023-10-19 02:04:23 +0000 UTCJulia Lester (Ashlyn) was in the revival of Into The Woods as Little Red Riding Hood before filming of this season started which could explain why her voice sounds different in this season. She was actually nominated for a Tony for her role in Into The Woods and she's got a really cute video on her social medias of her, her family and her girlfriend's reactions to her nomination. I disagree about EJ seeming like he was asking for help though seeing as though he was actively asking them to leave him alone. Also I can't wait for you to see more of Jet and Maddox's relationship reveal itself.
