I'm just gonna echo what others have said about Riverdale and Once Upon a Time not being musical shows, though Riverdale has multiple (that is if I remember correctly) musical episodes and Once Upon a Time has a single musical episode. I think they'd both be great watch parties but if you're looking to replace the High School Musical show with a different musical show then neither is the right option. Looking forward to whatever is chosen though

Once Upon a Time is NOT a musical tv series. Just like Riverdale. You really should go with Smash, amazing show and amazing songs and voices. Shmiagdoon or Galavant are also good and they are comedies.

I was torn between Nashville and Smash as I love both shows!!!! I went with Nashville but I would be very happy with Smash as well. Also I wouldn't mind Schmigadoon or Crazy Ex Girlfriend as I would be interested in watching them as well since I have never seen either show.

I think you would love Schmigadoon. It's not gotten the attention it deserves sadly. Once Upon a Time isn't a musical series but it's really good. And I'm clearly in the minority here, but I didn't like Smash.

I am voting for Once Upon a Time. It’s not a musical tv series however I would definitely commit to a full series watch party of it if you decide to do it. It’s a really good show and puts a lot of twists on classic fairytales and even some Disney ones.

Schmigadoon is short, 6 episodes, 30 min first season, and it’s literally a masterclass in musical theater. Broadway superstars and funny on its own but also incredible for those who get the references

I really really want to see Galavant finally getting the attention and love it deserves, I think that even as they were making the show they didn't get enough backing and faith from the network and execs that approved it, they were under enormous budget and time constraints (which for a fantasy musical series, is almost laughable, and is really a testament to the performers and songwriters that they pulled it off as well as they did..) and posthumously, didn't get a streaming deal or a decent merch publication (I've looked for the DVD set for ages, it's sold out..) All this to say, if you do find it in your schedule to do it (only 18 episodes, 20 minute runtime!) I'd be thrilled beyond words, but I love it so so much, that I'd be happy if you chose a song or two to react and analyze (I can't afford the tier for song requests) - I think you'll have a blast doing it, and maybe it will garner a following and people will ask for more. A lot of the major songs are readily available on Youtube, so here's praying..

Once Upon a Time is not a musical series. It's fun, convoluted and has one musical episode with 2 really good performances that you can definitely watch without context and still enjoy, otherwise - as a reaction series, there's no music in it at all.

Please Smash! It would be great to hear insight into a more mature and professional approach to a show. Yes there’s still drama and enough to keep you intrigued in it but there’s a lot to unpack in terms of the music and how a Broadway show is made and I think you would attract more people diversifying. SCHMIGADOON! There's so many fun musical reference. I don't even know them all but it's so fun. Season 2 finale is this week. I hope they do a season 3 tbh so we get musicals from next decades. I've been liking s2 more as I know more of those musicals If not next suggestion would be Smash. Pretty sure they're doing a musical for broadway like the musical in the show which sounds fun Also don't think Once Upon A Time is a musical I watched a few eps back in the day there was no singing so think there's maybe a musical eps but it's not a musical show.
