Plothole alert, because in season 1 episode 1 Rachel had a picture of her 2 dads and one of them was black.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Where is episode 14

Jessica taylor

Where is episode 12?

Alex Densmore

This episode is sooo good and underrated!! The music is outstanding, we finally meet Rachel’s dads, its great! I love that vocally Rachel takes a backseat so others get a chance to sing, something we don’t get to often. Also Tina is very talented singer and I’m convinced that she was underused to make Rachel look better. You should definitely react to her singing Piece By Piece and the National Anthem on YT.(Wait until you get to Because you loved me!)Definitely a top tier episode!

Selma Jabr

i would have loved to see more of them too

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

much an amazing song!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

i love how all the actors irl were tearing up when amber was singing i will always love you my favorite part about the performances are seeing the genuine reactions on everyone’s face

fry

This episode is so fun, maybe one of my favourites in S3. I love the final scene, and any that show them all just having silly fun like teenagers do <3 I seem to remember Darren was out for these few episodes because he was in How To Succeed In Business... on Broadway. Seems like forever ago now but I remember wishing I could fly to New York and see him :D

Romy

Fun fact, Mitch grassi from Pentatonix was an extra in this episode. He was one of the singers in that group that placed 3rd :)

Katie Oliver

The last two songs gives me so much joy, everyone is so happy, everytime I watch it I can't help but smile^^

Camille Watrigant

One of my biggest frustrations with this show is the under-utilization of Rachel's parents. Ryan used the excuse of the photo they used of them in the pilot being so perfect, they resisted casting, but that was ridiculous. And once they did cast them - brilliantly, in my opinion - they only had them around for a few episodes. Jeff Goldblum was a great casting choice, but even more inspired was Brian Stokes Mitchell. Stokes was in Ragtime with Lea when she was about 11 or 12 and, along with Audra McDonald, Marin Mazzie and Peter Friedman, was a mentor and friend to her and has been all these years. Not having them back for her storyline was as much of a travesty as what they did with Shelby, her birth mother (Idina Menzel, another friend Lea knew and worked with from Broadway, before Glee). Rachel was a lead character. I just feel like they could have explained a lot about her motivations and drive by having her parents on as just as much of a fabric of the show as Kurt's.

Pendre

Yea I still dont know what his point is in the show hmmm

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I love that episode 💗

Valerie Fischer

Sugar was such an underrated character! I think she’s hilarious! Also Joe felt random through out the entire time on glee. It seemed like they didn’t really have a goal or character plan for him so they just randomly throw him in until he disappears from the show

Ayan

Yes she really knows how to sing Whitney. Wow 🤩

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

That’s interesting. I usually see two women kissing in tv much more often than two men. 🤔

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea I don’t honk about song use. They must pay to use them so they should use them better

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

🤔

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

We simply don’t here Mike belt heavy lifting songs enough.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I feel like their marriage story line is going to fade out really fast.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

OMG I love it!!!! Just get a used one. People sell them for cheap all the time. I bought mine for about $150usd from Decathlon

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I totally agree with you. Glee did a lot of stunt casting but they rarely followed through with really flushing out potentially good characters and arcs. That unfortunately was/is the negative of having such a heavy focus on few characters and not really developing the rest but using them as props to the few favorites. It ended up killing the show that I loved.

Veronica_R_T

I asked for a treadmil for Christmas so I can "walk" with you while watching your watch parties!

Jeanette Dawe

oh yay finally I have been waiting for you to do this episode. FInally get to meet Joe. He was my favorite even though they end up not doing anything with his character. he had so much potential for a good story line.

Jeanette Dawe

I totally agree even tho they did have some pretty cute scenes in later seasons

Hello

I really enjoyed this episode. It's one of the few times we really get to see Mercedes shine and really get to sing lead and not just belt out the high notes at the end or do the great adlibs. S3 was really good for her character. I love Sam and Mercedes together. I think they bring out a really sweet side to each other but Mercedes was right. This wasn't the right time for them to be together considering all that has happened. As for Rachel and Finn this entire marriage storyline never felt right for me because this was all about getting married to band-aid the real issues they had as a couple and as individuals. Never a good sign for a relationship.

Veronica_R_T

Everyone seems to love the Sam and Mercedes thing. Back when the show was airing and now, but I just don't get it. In my opinion they have no chemistry at all and they're too opposite. They want totally different things out of life but throughout the show the writers keep pushing them together. They're on and off so often. They just don't work, they never worked for me. After this season 3 drama that should've been it I think. No one ever seems to agree with me on this but I feel how I feel. 🙈🤷

Siobhan Linehan

I didn't think Mike could sing? Maybe I missed an episode lmao. Also Mercedes killed it in that song I think she should be with Sam he's cute the other bullied Kurt don't like him

Katie Kat

Thanks for the reminder. I always have to skip over those scenes so I'll know to look out for them in the next watch party and skip them. 👍

Siobhan Linehan

Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a trigger warning for suicide for next week's episode. Sorry if that's a minor spoiler but I figure it's worth it for some people. On a lighter note, I never got the lube joke in the dinner party scene until just now and I almost fell over laughing.

Kristina

Please react to Everytime! Melissa does an excellent job!

Beto Caceres

I have a theory. It was the new kid Joe that complained. Keep an eye on how Brittany treats him from now on. I think Brittany figured it out and did not tell Santana. Just my own theory and speculation.

Rasha

This is my favorite V-day ep. I think they perfectly cast Rachel's dads. Love both of those actors. L-O-V-E was Harry's audition song and it was nice to see him get some screen time and singing. I just watched the premiere of Grey's Anatomy last night and saw Harry get to be a doctor (guess grown up Mike ended up honoring his parents in that way anyway, lol). He still looks great btw. Santana is such an amazing and layered character. We all know that she's so shrewd and cunning and it's nice to see her channel it for the greater good. I do wish that they had put more of spotlight on Brittana instead of the Sugar love triangle nonsense. Naya has such a beautiful smile, it was nice to see it so much at the end of this episode. Also, the cast has said that they had a blast filming the scenes at Breadstix (AKA the Sugar Shack) Poor Sam...he's gotten screwed in the romance department more so than any other character. Cheated on by Quinn, used by Santana, and now complete and utter heartbreak with Mercedes...I remember being so upset for him when I first watched this. Samcedes is one of my favorite canon couples I have this made up backstory that Santana, Mike, and Blaine were actually really close friends. During "Love Shack" Blaine totally steals Santana's dance move (the arched back strut that she does during Valerie) and Mike and Santana both slap their asses in musical numbers more than any other characters...lol, I know it's a reach, but it would explain why Santana is super protective of Blaine in the Michael episode seemingly out of nowhere and why Mike is the only character (other than Brittany) who doesn't get made fun of by Santana. Watching this episode reminded me of that backstory I came up with so long ago. Lastly, I'm glad that they're finally addressing the teen marriage issue. They really need to think more about the commitment and work that comes with being married. It just seems like they're both forcing marriage in order to hold onto something that they're terrified of losing. That type of foundation in a marriage will just allow for their insecurities to take root even further. Marriage should be a choice, not a desperate anchor.

Gemma Rivera

I saw a picture of The Harp on Facebook and immediately said that’s Amber Riley. I hadn’t even heard her sing. She had her hands on her hips in that sassy pose that she always did as Mercedes. I’m glad they finally have someone from Glee on that show! I don’t watch Masked Dancer, so I can’t answer that one.

Jenn

As a Brittana fan I was tricked into thinking this episode was about them but having barely 3 scenes and zero songs in it was infuriating for me. How dare they? Nobody puts babies in a corner!!! >( Sugar's love triangle had way more screentime but I'm not gonna lie, I was somewhat entertained. That didn't bother me but it's a crime to invest time in something that came out of nowhere, it's going nowhere and nobody asked for over Brittana, plus, not to have them sing at least Love shack when it had everything to do with their current situation it's a sin. It was the only place where they could kiss freely as the song says. I liked Tina and Mike's performance because they're so cute without even trying. Didn't like the Cherish/Cherish mashup,. No vocal chemistry among the members of the God's squad. I could've done with only Quinn singing Madonna's Cherish to her fellow Cheerios.

Capri Zonica

Oh oh oh Anyone else also 1000% sure that The Harp of Masked Singer is Amber Riley and Scissors on Masked Dancer is Heather Morris???

Annie Willow

Nope.

Annie Willow

I am so proud of Santana for owning her sexuality and defending her relationship with Brittany. She has come such a long way from the angry, snarky bitch that she was and it’s adorable to see her turn to complete mush when she’s with Britt. The playlist Brittany made her is hilariously adorable, too. And her fish dress, just too cute. We FINALLY get an on screen kiss only two years after the “Sex is not dating.” “If it was Santana and I would be dating.” scene. It was even a year after Kurt and Blaine’s first kiss, too. So many double standards still and it was a fight to get Fox to agree at all. Ugh, but I digress, At this point I’m just glad that we are finally there with more Brittana.

Annie Willow

This is one of my favorite episodes and I go back and watch it all the time. The whole Artie-Sugar-Rory this, eh, whatever, but we got two great songs out of it and a super sweet cuddle Brittana moment during Rory’s song, so I will take it. Also, can I have Sugar as my best friend?? I love what Rachel and Finn’s parents tried to do. They really have no idea what actually living together and being married will mean so this was a great idea, too bad it backfired. I do think it was smart of Mercedes to take some time for herself without either guy, but ultimately, Sam and her are really great for each other. And oh man, does she do Whitney justice. (Side note, this episode aired 3 days after her death.)

Annie Willow

Sending you love and support. It's never easy having to stay in the closet even if it's for your safety and mental well-being

Jay Johnston

This is a REALLY good episode imo, one of the few I like in season 3. The little Sam and Rachel moment in the Stereo Hearts song always makes me smile, it was great to have more of Brittney and Santana's relationship, Geoff Goldblum was as fabulous as he always is and Blaine was brilliant singing Love Shack. But I hated all the stuff with religious people being unsure about whether to sing to two women. My parents are anti LGBT+ because of their religion and that's why I haven't told them that I'm bi. I've tried hard to make them understand that being LGBT+ isn't a bad thing. I make them watch shows and movies with LGBT+ content but they just say "ewww", " that's wrong", "why are you making us watch these sinners" etc etc. Glee was actually the first show, along with Doctor Who, that made me realize that my feelings are ok and that my parents are wrong. Thanks to these two shows I turned away from religion, accepted my sexuality, accepted the sexualites and genders of others and learned a lot about what it means to be a good person. I just wish my parents would be open to learning and changing too. 🙈 But that aside, I do enjoy this episode a lot. 💕 (I know almost every comment I leave on your Patreon is very long. I never know when to shut up lol. I'm very sorry)

Siobhan Linehan

Next episode... I'm not ready

!

Same!

Sabrina Louis

Love this episode especially as a fan of Santana and Brittany's relationship. Personally this is my favorite Holiday related episode that happened on Glee.
