They used cgi for Renesmee because she grows so fast. They cast the actress and used cgi to deage her so that the stages of growth would be consistent. Unfortunately that hadn’t really ever been done before and the tech and skill was not there (clearly)

She can’t turn to a vampire whilst pregnant because the venom would abort the baby- the reason they never knew human vamp hybrids could exist is because vampires that have sex with humans usually kill them and the ones that don’t are female vampires who don’t ovulate therefore can’t conceive or carry. SM said that because men have endless sperm they produce it as normal even after vamping. (Yes I know that doesn’t make sense that’s just what she reasoned)
