I’ve heard that Cats the movie has issues with creepiness and scale inconsistencies. But please, please consider watching the version that was filmed in 1998, which is available to watch online now. I grew up watching the DVD and used to dance with it in the family room. I had a huge crush on Jemima, Bombalurina, Victoria, Munkustrap, Rum Tum Tugger, and especially Cassandra. If anyone wonders why the Jellicle Cats seem eager to die, my theory is that they prize youth and being able-bodied, and want to move onto their next life before aging past their prime. That Grisabella repels them and disgusts them so much because she pursued pleasure and self-image into old age, and there’s no doubt in my mind that they denied her the opportunity to reincarnate for years due to slut-shaming. Rum Tum Tugger is quite the slut so why isn't he shamed... So she is starving in the street, hobbled, weak, unloved, very old, and suffering from mange, which is why I'm baffled that they cast Jennifer Hudson for that role. Then, I believe, it’s only when Jemima and Victoria (his favorite child. so why is she a stranger in the movie?) take pity on her that their patriarch Old Deuteronomy finally allows her to ascend and regain youth.

I mean, Eugene and Ned own their homes and could actually plant a tree every year if they wanted, maybe slowing down after hitting a 10 or 25 year mark. Depending on how big the lot is, you could end up with a nicely shaded backyard and/or house.
