Nuan the Swordmaster!

A fifth party member approaches! Introducing Nuan (full name Nuan Bai),  mercenary swordmaster extraordinaire and wielder of the katana Yuusei!

Nuan isn't really the friendly or helpful type... in fact, the only way she'll join your party at all is if you pay her. But that doesn't mean she isn't willing to fight!

The Swordmaster class is characterized by very high Agility and Attack, but lackluster defenses. Nuan has a very high Passion stat, which allows her to pull off some fast, first-turn killing moves, but also makes her extremely vulnerable to enemy Lust attacks. Just what sorts of fetishes is she hiding, I wonder~?

Unlike Sable, she can't equip a shield, and unlike Jyla, she can't equip a second weapon, but all that hardly matters when Yuusei will more than suffice.

She can, however, equip a Style. Styles are unique to the Swordmaster class and, when equipped, change what Nuan can do instead of Guard. (If you unequip her Style, she'll be able to Guard like normal.) She starts with the Deflect style, which is much like Guard, except that it's better when it comes to physical attacks. 

 Another Style you'll come across is Ready, which lets Nuan enter a counterattacking stance. While she'll still take damage and potentially be inflicted with status conditions, she'll have a 50% chance to perform a wicked counter!

Yet another Style is Focus. Focus is simple: it lets Nuan generate 20 CP on her turn. It's simple, but very, very effective. Use Focus and you're already most of the way to using Double Strike, which Nuan shares with Sable and Jyla at Level 1. Or, better yet, you'll be 1/3 of the way to using... Kurogiri.

Kurogiri is a costly technique Nuan knows from the start, but once you see it in action...

Most enemies won't be able to stand up to that.

Choose your Style well, and Nuan will easily prove her worth in battle!
