Weekly Update #6

Why is it on Vimeo and why is it password protected, you might ask yourself. Two more of my videos got taken down on Youtube and now I have two strikes, which means I can't upload videos anymore. I put in a complaint for each video, one of them did not get through the other is still open. I had to look for an alternative that works for embedding on these posts. I've tried cloud services like Dropbox but all of those don't play videos directly. So I just went ahead and picked Vimeo. However, you can't do unlisted videos that are only accessible through a link, that feature costs money. That's why my choice fell on the next best thing and that is unlisted and password protected. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but apparently my videos are not suitable for Youtube due to their pornographic nature, at least that's the reason why they got taken down. So if I'm ever able to upload videos on that account again, I have to keep my public videos as boring as possible. None of the unlisted ones, which are the ones I use on Patreon and my art sites, were affected by any takedowns. The public ones are the issue, which is why I'm most likely gonna make all of them private. The weird thing is, the first video that got taken down was the Giant's Sanbox 0.0.5. I put in a complaint and it went back online. The other two affected videos were Giant's Sandbox Alpha 0.0.3 and Giant's Sandbox Update #2, which both had less sexually oriented content than the 0.0.5 video that has all those skimpy outfits and low angles and whatnot. I just might end up uploading everything to Pornhub instead.

Sorry for the rambling but that just really bothered me. Onward to the updates.

Giant's Sandbox

Not much news from this one. As I've said in the previous update, there's a bunch of small things, bug fixes and tweaks to do. After all, I'm trying to wrap up to get a new release out soon, so I'm not gonna work on any new big features at the moment. If there is a visual thing that gets updated, I'll let you guys know for sure.

In the meantime, I do have a Trello board for the developement progress of Giant's Sandbox, in case you are curious about the things that I am working on. I figured maybe some people might find that interesting.

Art

To be honest, I focused a little more on art this week than on game developement. I've actually finished doing the lines for that four page comic that I'm working on. What's left now is adding some grayscaling and it should be good. Have another teaser:

As for the video at the top of this post, this was just a test for fun, since a few people mentioned that they wanted to see the Taorena model I used for Giant's Sandbox do the POV stomp animation from Cleo. Since I can just easily retarget the animation to another model, I gave it a shot and tweaked it a little, like facial animations. It's only a Playblast, meaning that this is the quality of the Maya viewport and not a proper rendering. If people like it, I could make that a proper rendering though. Won't be too much of a hassle, since the animation is already basically done. Only the rendering will take a while. And yes, I could techincally do that with every model I have in Giant's Sandbox (and others I have in FBX format).

Anything Else?

That whole Youtube thing is quite annoying and I really don't want to make a new account. If anybody knows of any way to upload private videos that can be embedded on sites like this, let me know.
