Up where they walk

I am not a "daywalker" as they say - some redheads can walk in the sun, but not me. I really hate this heat wave, but mostly because I'm not at the ocean.

I'm not a hot or sunny weather person (can't you tell?), but I am very much an ocean person. My hair curls up perfectly, my skin is finally smooth and glowing with no makeup needed, my freckles pop out under my layers of sunscreen. When I go to PR or Bermuda or Miami, I drive around with sandy bare feet until I find an empty beach and pull over to swim, preferably nude. I crack open crab legs and slurp oysters like a mermaid in her element.

Unfortunately in Brooklyn, while technically near an ocean, I'm not really living my full mermaid life just yet, ha!

Dr. M (the science femme) bought me the beach tent on my wishlist so I can actually hang on the NY beaches that have zero trees!
