2023-07-22 05:55:31 +0000 UTCIt wasn't explained super well, you kinda have to watch the first ep a couple of times or read the manga, however, Toji was hired by the Star Religious Group to assassinate Riko because STG worships Tengen and their belief is that Tengen should remain unaltered by stopping the assimilation and allowing his evolution to take place. Toji knew that he wouldn't be able to get close to touching Riko without doing something about Gojo first due to what he said in the flashback. Put him down then go take out Riko for STG. Job done
