Kid you not I’m still processing this episode. Like every single episode it’s getting harder and harder for me to actually be “mad” or “judgmental” towards a certain character like seriously. Each Buffy episode I’m stressing out for both sides. Like my blood pressure cannot handle this amount of stress😭😭.
I don’t even want to ponder what potential stuff could happen in these last 12 episodes. We are dead ass about to be halfway through the season by next week…. I’m hella nervous.

I have such mixed feelings about Spike and Buffy. SMG and James Marsters have such phenomenal chemistry that it's hard not to get caught up in it. And from a narrative standpoint, it's such good, intelligent TV. But it makes me uncomfortable to see Buffy so desperate to avoid her depression that she'd use someone who has feelings for her, and Spike's repeated digs at her to isolate her and make her feel worse so she'll stay just infuriates me.

She's only messing around with spike to feel something outside of her depression and numbness. However she's not realizing it's just temporary bliss and goes back to feeling the same way. So yes this is her drug addiction and she keeps going back for her next fix. I don't put the blame on spike as well because at the end of the day he's a demon, they thrive off of lust and chaos.
