*Chapter 5: The Gentle and Pure Glasses Girl, the Cowardly Big Fat Sheep!
Added 2024-10-04 11:50:17 +0000 UTCThe person who arrived was petite and had a graceful, slender figure. Her neck was long like a crane's, with delicate shoulders and a slim waist. The wide, dignified black-and-white nun's habit concealed her body shape, but it couldn't hide the softness and charm of her demeanor.
She had a gentle, elegant snow-white oval face, with a tall, delicate nose framed by a pair of large, thin, black-rimmed round glasses. Behind the clean, transparent lenses, her hazel-green almond-shaped eyes were calm and serene, like a peaceful harbor.
At the foot of Kikyo Mountain, within Kikyo City, was Kikyo Orphanage, overseen by its headmistress, Yuno Yashiro.
It had been mentioned earlier that Nara Raku had a good relationship with a "blonde elder sister headmistress," referring to Yuno Yashiro.
"Lady Tsunade."
Yuno Yashiro first bowed respectfully to Tsunade, who remained silent with her eyes closed, then nodded toward Nara Raku.
"Raku."
"Sister Yashiro, when did you come back?"
A genuine smile of joy appeared on Nara Raku's little face.
"How come you didn’t say anything?"
"Last night, I returned to the orphanage very late."
Yuno Yashiro's soft eyebrows and voice matched her gentle and sincere smile.
"By the way, Raku, congratulations on graduating from ninja school."
Tsunade suddenly interjected into the conversation, "Yuno Yashiro... is that you?"
Yuno Yashiro's response became quick and to the point at that moment, "Yes, Lady Tsunade."
On the surface, she was simply the headmistress of the Kikyo Orphanage. But a deeper identity lay hidden—she was a Jonin in the Konoha Medical Division's Emergency Medical Team. Only the highest echelons of Root knew of her secret roles: "Root Elite," "Legendary Spy," and "Wandering Miko."
As Konoha's leading medical expert and head of the Medical Division, Tsunade was effectively one of Yuno Yashiro's direct superiors.
"We just encountered a spy from an enemy village here—most likely an elite ninja from Iwagakure."
Tsunade nodded slightly, maintaining her cold, aloof demeanor, and calmly issued orders.
"Fire the Medical Division’s specialized signal flare and have the body disposal team stationed in Kikyo City come here immediately to handle the body. Notify the Yamanaka clan’s analysis team. This Iwagakure Jonin had mastered an advanced invisibility technique akin to the Transparent Escape Technique. They may be able to uncover traces of secret techniques from this body, and don’t forget the intelligence stored in the spy’s brain. Lastly, inform the Anbu and the Hokage's office... On second thought, I'll handle that part personally later."
"Understood!"
Yuno Yashiro nodded seriously, pulling out the signal flare from her nun's habit while discreetly glancing at the now-lifeless body of Daishi.
She recognized this Iwagakure ninja.
In fact, Yuno Yashiro had come to this place specifically because of him.
As a Root elite, Yuno Yashiro had spent many years undercover in other nations under the guise of a "wandering miko," gathering intelligence for both Root and Konoha, while also earning a steady income for Kikyo Orphanage.
Thus, she was quite familiar with many Iwagakure ninjas, especially those in the Jonin ranks.
Last night, after returning to the village, Yuno Yashiro had gone to Kikyo City to buy supplies for the orphanage. On the streets, she unexpectedly encountered Daishi, who was also on a spy mission. He had vaguely sensed her presence.
If not for her skillful counter-tracking techniques, Yuno Yashiro guessed she would have had to find a way to eliminate Daishi.
But she hadn't anticipated that, after shaking him off, she would stumble upon a fierce battle outside Kikyo City—and find Daishi's corpse.
A spy's body!
Boom!
The Konoha Medical Division’s special green flare lit up the night sky, casting a pale glow over Yuno Yashiro's delicate face.
‘No matter what, I must leave Root for the sake of the children in the orphanage!’
Moments after the flare was fired, ninjas from Kikyo City rushed to the scene—many were already on their way due to the large-scale commotion caused by Daishi’s Earth Flow Spear, Tsunade’s monstrous strength, and Nara Raku's explosive tags and flash bombs.
Given the current sensitive situation, the ninjas stationed in Kikyo City didn’t dare to be careless with any unusual activity.
The battle ninjas retreated, while the medical ninjas from the corpse disposal team moved in.
The Iwagakure spy’s body was quickly dealt with and removed. A special spray was used to cleanse the air and ground of the lingering stench of blood.
After bowing respectfully to Tsunade, the medical and analysis teams hurried away.
"Phew..."
Nara Raku, standing closest, could hear the faint sigh of relief from Tsunade as she slowly opened her eyes.
Nara Raku no longer supported Tsunade—his small frame made it exhausting to hold up such a “big fat sheep” for too long—he then walked over to Yuno Yashiro.
"Sister Yashiro, I just went through a battle. How about giving me a Palm Healing Technique to restore my energy?"
Before Yuno Yashiro could answer, Tsunade, on a whim, grabbed Nara Raku before he could leave.
Nara Raku was puzzled and looked back at Tsunade: "Huh?"
Tsunade glared at him in return: "What? The number one medical ninja in Konoha is me! You want someone else to heal you in front of me?"
"Lady Tsunade!"
Yuno Yashiro, slightly anxious, quickly moved forward with concern.
"Raku, are you injured from the battle?"
Seeing the confusion on Nara Raku’s face and the genuine concern from Yuno Yashiro, Tsunade suddenly realized how ridiculous her behavior had been.
One second, she was holding onto Nara Raku like a doll, and the next, she awkwardly shoved him into Yuno Yashiro’s arms.
Yuno Yashiro’s face flushed red.
Though Nara Raku was much shorter and weaker than boys his age, compared to Yuno Yashiro’s petite figure, it was enough to knock her off balance.
Nara Raku’s nose was now pressed against something soft, and he couldn’t help but notice Yuno Yashiro’s scent filling his nostrils.
For a moment, he wasn’t sure whether to be annoyed with Tsunade or grateful—or perhaps admire the surprising softness hidden beneath Yuno Yashiro’s modest nun attire.
Tsunade, folding her arms, suddenly noticed the dried blood on her fists and froze. Trying to maintain her composure, she quipped, "Nara, if you're really that tired, just take a pill!"
Relieved to find no injuries on Nara Raku, Yuno Yashiro quickly pulled out a bottle of soldier pills from her pocket.
"Raku, if you really need it, take one."
Feeling something was off but unsure what, Nara Raku declined the pill and instead asked if he could go to the Kikyo Orphanage for a meal.
Yuno Yashiro gladly agreed—he often ate at the orphanage.
For some reason, Tsunade also volunteered to go to the orphanage, stating that she needed a place to wash up before meeting with the Third Hokage.
Yuno Yashiro found Tsunade's stiff movements odd, almost as if she were suffering from some kind of... condition.
Could the greatest medical expert in the ninja world have an illness she couldn't cure herself?
As a professional medic-ninja, Yuno Yashiro trusted her intuition, but she didn’t ask, knowing better than to pry into secrets.
Nara Raku pulled out a thousand-ryo bill from his tool pouch and handed it to Yuno Yashiro. He always paid when he ate at the orphanage—freeloading wasn’t his style.
Yuno Yashiro, used to this, took the money and excused herself to prepare Raku’s favorite foods.
Once she had left, Tsunade’s delicate face turned pale again, and her body trembled slightly.
Nara Raku sighed and approached her to comfort her, "Lady Tsunade, the corpse disposal team has already taken care of the... smell."
"My hands..."
Tsunade raised her right hand, trembling, her fair skin speckled with dried dark red blood.
"On my hands... there's still..."
Nara Raku pinched his thigh hard.
Cowardly and sneaky big fat sheep!
