Couple things, I don't know if yall remember when lurker first introduced rob devil, he called him the devil of the right arm and said that he defeated Hatz(swordsman from the first season who teamed up with lizard girl Anak and is famous at this point). He was actually a fake, Horyang was the real devil of the right arm and the one that defeated Hatz. Thats why robdevil was so afraid of him when he revealed himself.

Glad to see I'm not the only one bummed out by all the cut character moments,,like I get the faster pacing of course, but I feel like some choices are just sacrificing the characters or worldbuilding so much 😭😭 People have already been mentioning it, but it doesn't make sense to me that they didn't actually establish how Wangnan tricked Viole into passing them,,or the implications in Horyangs fight with Robdevil or how Robdevil had claimed to have beaten Hatz (swordsman from season 1) and Viole asked him about it after,,or even just something small like how people kept assuming Nia was a girl, but he was a boy. Like I swear, ik they have a lot to consider, but it really feels like these things could've been covered rather quickly for the most part and still would've added so much more context... Hurts extra because I'd actually been looking forward to an other season for sooo long and genuinely kept looking up when it'd be coming since the first finished,,but still fingers crossed that its only up from here 😔😔

To be honest, Tower of God’s Webtoon material deserves a good adaptation from a good studio. Last Animation Studio did the first season justice, but this season lacks a lot in many departments. I hope the older if not a newer studio to pick up season 3 for the Workshop Arc

Tripping, MT is controversial but the story and world is interesting even outside the characters (Dragon god, Laplace/other demons, Politics behind the scenes) MT has good animation but consists mostly of story and character decisions. Demon Slayer is more of an example of being carried by animation and a juvenile plot with no depth. Still enjoyable though

Yea I already knew they would be condensing a lot of info this season. The part we are at now is actually like 10 episodes into s2 of the manwha, and each manwha chapter is the size of 3 "normal" manga chapters. There would be no way to do all of that without another 100 episodes and get to anything that anyone cares about. So I think speeding through this part while hitting the important notes is probably best. The gist of this is that Baam struggled with his betrayal, and by meeting Wangnan, who forgave the person that betrayed him - Baam gained some insight. I believe that at some point he was struggling with whether he wanted to "get back" at Rachel. I think meeting this group of people may have given him something to think about.

TFW FUG rigged both F2 & F20 (the most critical chokepoints for advancing the Tower, since after that point on by the time the next chokepoint happens at w/e Floor, Baam is already probably too busted for it to matter no matter what compared to even test administrators on those Floors) to speedrun any% their new Slayer candidate through. In case you missed it (because S1 translated it weirdly, but I suppose not exactly entirely wrong since the meaning is essentially the same), Submerged Fish is the moniker Yu Hansung is called, as was stated in S1 during the "fight" between Ren & Yu Hansung (the title was technically translated as Deep-Sea Fish, so many people might have not realized the moniker is the same one as mentioned here by Augusgus). Hell I suppose you probably would have to count Headon & the F2 Administrator as part of the same plot too, since they for sure know about it since they were literally 100% critical for the plan to succeed in S1 to begin with (so at least 4 people on-site knew about the plan to make it possible, probably more among the higher ups of FUG at w/e Floor their base is at)

I have to say I'm glad Tower of God is getting a second season but, so far, the webtoon is much better. The animation is a bit wonky at times and they've cut out a lot of moments where the characters bond (they managed to fit 23 chapters into 4 episodes 😅). It’s a decent adaptation and I’m still excited to watch the rest of the season, but I'd recommend anyone who enjoys this anime to check out the webtoon.

/No Spoilers/ I’ve read the source material years ago and I can definitely say the studio is rushing it, but I understand why. There’s no guarantee for a season 3, so they’re trying to get to the meat and potatoes before times up. This arc starts really slow, and could easily be 2 cours by itself. if they were really going the actual pace of the story there would be 50 episodes this season (if they’re stopping we’re I’m thinking). Remember everyone, season 1 is technically the pilot, this is where the Show really begins. Annoying as it is, what’s done is done, cross your fingers that it won’t be so obvious anymore, but I have no doubt a lot of stuff will be cut out.

the manhwa is too long to have a good pacing. Its literally 300+ chapter for the s2 only and another 205 and still ongoing ep for s3 for a total of 623 chapter that they have to fill in the anime and tog don't really have filler so. Honestly we only 4 ep in and they skipped some scene already that were kinda important for character bonding. They will skip A LOT of scene in the anime if they managed to go through the end with it. This ep really showed how they struggle to pace thing correctly.

So they didnt explain this but the test was for viole to pass if he got the remote from the administrator. ja wangan got the remote and promised to give it if he got help. after he got the help he gave him his remote not the administrators. so when viole thought he was pressing the administrators remote he thought he would win by himself, he actuelly pressed the button to join ja wangan's team and didnt in the end pass by himself.

Fun fact those mini pods have multiple functions. They can be used to kill or cause a distraction like the smoke ones. Also you need a lot of money to climb the tower it's cut content that was in the manga but left out of the anime but yeah basic if you fail or need to wait for the next test you need to wait until the test and pay you way in the mean time.

I can understand removing some scenes for pacing sakes, but sometimes it’s removed for drawn out dialogue that can be maybe 3 minutes tops. God I hope this doesn’t turn into a Go Go Loser Ranger situation where key character development scenes are cut out for the sake of rushing through an arc. Like we waited so long for this show to come back and it’s gonna suck if they botch this. I already am not onboard with the new animation style but please don’t let there be too many noticeable pacing issues

just wanted to add some detail that wasn't properly addressed in the anime, the robdevil dude called himself the devil of the right arm, and in the webtoon horyang seemed to imply that was actually his nickname, so they kinda messed up the whole "hey lil bitch you're pretending to be hot shit using my name" thing

As an adaptation so far it hasn't been too good. The first 3 episodes of season 1 handled giving lore to the world pretty good. The first 3 episodes here which should have quite a bit of character interactions have been scrapped to hit moments.

@Jake Oh no, when I said assuming, I meant the characters. In the manwha Wangnan assumes Nia to be a girl and finds out hes a boy,,I'm assuming thats why they kept the pronoun switch, and yet they for some reason didnt keep the short moment where he realizes that.

The Nia thing wasn't people assuming, the subtitles used the wrong pronoun when Wangnan talked about him and It was corrected in this episode.

To be honest, Tower of God’s Webtoon material deserves a good adaptation from a good studio. Last Animation Studio did the first season justice, but this season lacks a lot in many departments. I hope the older if not a newer studio to pick up season 3 for the Workshop Arc

The animation seems to be very stiff during any sequence whether it be dialogue or action compared to last season

so ive recently read the manhwas beginning again they dont actually explain why voiles on their team just yet even though they shouldve. Its no spoiler if anyone says why it just is something that shouldve been said sooner

Half the audience had trouble understanding the complicated ass game in the first place when everything was rushed through. We don't even see a real reaction from Viole so it’s easy to just go “I guess that’s what was supposed to happen” and roll with it when you’re already confused

Damn looks like the adaptation is getting demolished. This is kind of scaring me for ORV that Crunchyroll is also making. Both Tower of God and God of High School got/are getting pretty fucked by cuts and changes.

Because I read the webtoon I didn't realize that the show hasn't shown how fucked up the tower is, it's such a Normal response to Kill someone to get what you want especially if your weak and they are no "good" people in the traditional sense in the tower

Its not even just bad pacing but them also completely cutting out character moments. I thought they would at least show that Wangnan tricked Viole but they cut that too, so now the anime onlys think that Viole accepted them as teammates.
