Man lady Mariko was burning a hole through John's head the way she was staring at him the morning after pillowing with kiku also couldn't agree more with lupa the way lady ochiba talks is so unnerving but I hang on every word the actresses in this show are killing it for me.

2024-04-17 06:45:42 +0000 UTC@Oliver Yeah considering how close to the actual historical figures they are it's strange they just made up new names for them but Mariko's father is basically Akechi Mitsuhide, the guy he murdered and Ochiba's father is Oda Nobunaga, the Taiko was Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Toranaga is Tokugawa Ieyasu.

To add, her Father was THE ruler of Japan, but was known to be cruel and ruining the realm, so Toranaga and Mariko's father plotted to have him killed and the Taiko installed in his place. She got married off to the Taiko to legitimize his status as the new ruler.
