Just like people were trippin' over how to pronounce Sukuna in JJK, the word Seppuku is pronounced the same. It's Seh-puh-kuh, but with a Japanese accent, it sounds more like "Seh-poo-kuh". This is because in Japanese, the correct way to pronounce your "U's" is like an Uh, instead of an "OO" (very hard to type out lol), Like "oo wee!". I know that might be confusing, but using Suck-a-nuh as a reference l, you might get it. It's not an "oo" sound, it's an "uh" sound for "U's" in Japanese. Bottom line. Japanese is cute because they use shortcuts sometimes and lots of names get shortened by default. If you watched Naruto in Japanese, you may have noticed that Kakashi-sensei was OFTEN shortened to "Ka-ka- sensei" for the simple fact that it's common for Japanese people to shorten words or names when they speak fast. MOST of the time, U's, I's, and some conjuctions (like ei, ae, ai, etc.) are also shortened in order to speak a bit faster. By shortened, I mean sometimes they become completely silent sounds (meaning they just skip the sounds entirely) and other times it's changed to be shorter, like with slang or nicknames. This is one of the main reason EVERY language can be difficult to learn in full, because just about everybody breaks the "rules" and develops their own "slang".
