Baki Ep 25

Ali was tryna unlock ultra instinct

Comments

I remember vividly reading this chapter in the manga so it's crazy to see this animated. I always get a little nervous and uncomfortable with our portrayal in Japanese media so seeing that had me on edge.

Jamaal Ellison

Bro your name is throwing me off from the heat you spitting. 🤣🤣

The Lonely One

Idk if MAPPA was a thing back then, but mappa was a studio created by ppl from madhouse when they left

Newerk

Mappa worked on Ippo? Idek the studio was around back then

Ougi

twas a taken down meat canyon video

Josh Mr.Fire

Even Yujiro has to respect the goat

Shawn Oxley

i cant remember where it was from when roshi said "ah it stinks, nice and good" but i see the animation style in my head lmao

Husky

Hell yeah that would be lit it’s badass and funny af

E01C29

underrated show, it's hella entertaining.

The Pebble

Had to turn up my brightness ta see dem yams gyad damn

timethy girkins

Trio for Hajime No Ippo, top boxing anime and its made by Mappa and madhouse!!

speedy

I love that Yujiro, being a man who fought off the U.S military single handedly in the Vietnam war, shows respect to another man who basically fought against an entire Nation in his own way, as well as being a symbol for the cast down Black Americans of that time period. This show gets randomly deep when it's not totally bullshitting every 5 seconds lol.

The Pebble

He's just bugging, he has joked about crazier things as well.

EmoBurrito

Not too mention the authors Love of Ali and other fighters

Steve

@s4ean more than likely he had those symptoms behind closed doors and obviously no one would want to show Ali in that state but this show is doing a more realistic take on meeting Ali in that state. It's not pretty to watch but it's more of a real take on Ali both good and bad.

Devin B

Y’all gonna watch the next season please ? 😭

Kane

The end of this EP had "He think you , double cross?" vibes.

Hennessey

Well it ain't that serious

WeavyBoo

Although drooling is often a symptom of Parkinsons, I can't recall ever seeing Ali drooling. Not saying I've seen every bit of footage of Ali in existence, and maybe it's something he kept a handle on in public, but they're essentially portraying him in a way most people aren't used to seeing him. The shaking, the speech, I remember... drooling, not so much. It sounds awful to say, but I hope that was a symptom he dealt with, otherwise the inaccurate portrayal here would exhibit a lack of research in the man and a some level of disrespect.

s4ean

then they wonder why the comments be coming after them lol. do your research. at least google in between episodes lol. other then that the flashback was pretty nice and that wrestler ali faced in real life was Antonio inoki. for those who were wondering 😲

KeYo

Lupa was annoyed at the end just by the shaking when ali wasn't even drooling, man in denial about Ali's condition

JHaze

Everyone knows that. Literally a key point in his biography. I get where Roshi’s coming from, with the portrayal of Ali drooling isn’t very reapectful.

Alexander Szabo

I don't know why Lupa is so annoyed with the way they are showing Ali in his later years, the show is clearly respecting his legacy but is also showing the effects of his Parkinsons in a somewhat goofy way, but the whole show has some goofy shit all over the place

Mubarez Ahmad

@Booty Warrior Doffy it's not like they're showing him drooling the whole time, you'll only see him do that for a couple of minutes and that's it.

Devin B

I know that Roshi & crew watched a Baki recap video on Youtube before they started watching the Netflix Baki. But it just hits different when the show reintroduces characters and you*ve actually watched the previous anime.

Dayta13

I was really hoping Roshi would have read about the comments from the last video about Ali having really severe parkinson's disease which explains the shaking and drooling, at least that way the saltiness wouldn't have carried over into this episode

Phroug

Did Sheera just try to conjure a demon in that Punch kick strike grapple scene?

Vexxed

In OG Baki they said that Yujiro and Gaia (the guy who was torturing Sirkorsky) were equals when it comes to destructive capabilities. They can both take an army down and in one of the flashbacks in the OG series they actually showed Yujiro taking down an army but Gaia relies mostly on tactics to take an army down whereas Yujiro just uses his brute force to accomplish the same thing.

Devin B

Man I can't wait to see you all react to the face off next season

Antonio Williams

THE FUCKIN CHEEKS AT 4:05 LOOOL

Help

I think Ando is based off Andre the Giant. he looks like him at least

Jaelyn Mcgee

No one ever wants to see an icon in a weakened state, when faced with it people tend to deny it and look away from it—only wanting to see the good. What the anime did was by no means disrespectful, the author respects Ali a lot. The good and bad sides down to his illness. It shows that even with his illness, it won't change the fact that he's a legend.

KiliSloe

It's difficult for people to accept when an icon is struggling, as they prefer to only see the positive aspects. However, the anime's portrayal of Ali's illness was not meant to be disrespectful, and the author actually holds Ali in high regard. The show depicts both the good and bad aspects of Ali, including his illness, but ultimately emphasizes that he will always be a legendary figure regardless.

KiliSloe

Yujiro didn't train Jr, Ali just wanted Yujiro to see his dream martial arts within Jr

Devin B

It was dope for this show to big up Ali by having Yujiro of all people praising him for all his work, having the strongest man in the world talk about Ali like that had more of an impact than if anyone else said it.

Devin B

Devin B

we almost to the china tournament fuckery. They aint prepared and then what comes after lmao.

Infinity

They definitely have to continue, it seems they're invested in the fuckery of this show

Devin B

Booty Warrior Doffy is crazy asf

Not Trey

No I dont think Yujiro trained Muhammed Ali Jr. He just wanted Yujiro to meet his dream

PyroPhoenix

Ik that I just hope they continue

BONE DRAGON Vids

Baki Hanma is after Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament

PyroPhoenix

I mean i get why it was a bad fight inoki knew he couldnt box ali and ali knew he couldnt grapple with inoki. Also alot of rules in that fight were in ali's favor.

That Guy

Bro that's not the point to them; Even with drooling being a side effect, go find ONE video with Ali drooling on himself like this. They kept that legend looking clean, even in his later years. Making him just drooling all over himself constantly is disrespectful to most. I love Ali, but I also find this obscenity kinda funny, so I don't care personally.

The Pebble

bro what is this pfp

danial javady

that fight was horrible.... bro was fighting while lying down. Idk wtf they thought was gonna happen out of that

danial javady

Bro it is not that hard to go google Muhammad ali and see that this nigga had Parkinson’s disease before his death that’s why he’s shaking and drooling😂🤦🏾‍♂️

Big Daddy Dre

A fight between Ali and the wrestler was real but the names were slightly changed

earthphoenix7068
