In essence, you also want them to downplay the severity of his condition despite incontinence actually being a sypmtom of his condition, thus its severity it also not being properly conveyed by them leaving out the incontinence. I believe the shaking alone was enough to portray his condition and the drooling wasn't necessary despite the fact it also is a symptom. I think y'all don't like it because it makes you uncomfortable, which is understandable. It always made me a little uncomfortable when they'd show him at all these events. It still makes me sad/uncomfy when I see my great gma like that now. But that's how it is in real life. Ali had one of the more severe cases i've ever seen, and while its not fun to look at, its real and I appreciate they didn't try to water it down or pretend it didn't happen. They do a great job of respecting Ali's legacy later in the show and imo their portrayal of his disease adds even more to it. It shows how his deterioration later in life doesn't take away from him being one of the most important men in Americas short history. This isn't meant to be a criticism btw just my interpretation. I definitely get why ppl wouldn't like it.

I think it's entirely reasonable to have a negative reaction to seeing Muhammad Ali portrayed this way, but, at least with taking the next episode into consideration, I think the show does the best job possible with portraying a disabled man like him. Without spoiling the details the show heaps respect onto him and never once mocks or denigrates the man for having this condition. It's the toughest part about good disabled representation in media; you don't want to make their portrayal all about their disability, but neither do you want to ignore it entirely when it is a major part of any disabled person's life. Best way is to show it frankly and bluntly, and as just one aspect of that person. And for as meatheaded as a show Baki is I think it does just that.

This show has a rocky relationship with depicting black people. It's always a strange combination of admiration for the legacy left by some notable names but then always finds some way to be really disrespectful to the same character in a way that seems more personal then the other challengers that are introduced. Olivia is a prime example, here you have the #2 strongest in the world, well learned, politically powerful, mature and reservered(opposed to the rapping dj stereotype), but he can only exist in PRISON. They consciencly decided to give him attributes that refute stereotypes held by the world but no matter how smart and strong he is he is still part of an oppressive industrial prison complex. And from there it doesn't get better for other black characters. Still a fun show though!!
